Fun Fact Friday #88 The wolf sense of smell is a much more significant to every day life than for humans. To Wolves and other canines, it is just as important as their sight or hearing. So, fulfilling that sense is just as important. This is often done with candles or "sent boxes". In wolf culture candles are quite important and can hold various important meanings, or just create a pleasant environment to live in. Some major types or role of candles are Presence candles, mood/room candles, accent candles, and "sent boxes. Presence candles are to represent a certain person in their absence. They could be used when a close family member or other loved one is away for an extended period of time for work or travel, keeping their presence in the home and reminding those who are still there of the person in question. Or it could represent a soldier deployed far away. The aroma of the candle is supposed to remind those of the person in a way; It could be reminiscent of their favorite food, clothing, or their natural scent. A presence candle is to remain lit until the person it is suppose to represent returns. Death Candles are a subset of Presence candles in which the candle represents the absence of a person who is deceased. All previous aspects of Presence candles still apply, so the candle is designed to remain lit perpetually, maintained by the person's significant other or closest family member. Of course eventually the candle will run dry, and would have to be replaced. If the candle goes out for whatever reason, it is not a huge deal, simply replace it at the earliest convenience. "Mood" or "room" candles are designed to decorate different rooms or areas inside a house. Each type of room would get its own scent. Bedroomd gets a cetrain smell, bathrooms would get a overpowering smell, while main halls would get a more generic scent. Accent candles would be for special occasions, holidays, or setting certain moods. They would not be regularly used, and would have singular purposes for their specific role. "scent boxes" are the lazy man's version of candles. A wide variety of devices that dispense aerosolized particles to create a certain scent or smell. The name comes from the antiquated initial version of such devices. They are common in households which do not care to maintain the same candles. They can be used in the same fashion as any other type of candle, just at a lower cost of labor.

Encountering someone who is actually incapable of engaging in hypotheticals is jarring. I thought it was a meme. An exaggeration. I didn't think they existed. Trying to explain things to them is frustrating. They seem to be incapable of absorbing information.

The average ragebaiter will always win against the best debate scholar. In real debate, there's at least some modicum of mutual respect and cordiality, but on social media, you can essentially win via attrition, even if you're dead wrong, just due to the nature of the internet
