This moment made my blood boil. Can’t believe Tilak Varma was busy arguing with Naman Dhir instead of picking up the ball.

@LoyalSachinFan Last night game felt like OG MI games under Rohit, where MI used to snatch wins by 1,2 runs. I'm not a MI fan, bt i was so into the game, everyone was. Still can't believe the drama. Sports is cruel. Jimmy Neesham was so right.

@internetumpire That Bawa stayed in the middle of the pitch holding his knees after the final ball not knowing to go to his end for a easy runout. The fielder also threw it at the other end. And not to forget that Naman Dhir and Tilak drop catch.

@ndtv @ShivAroor @TTVDhinakaran What a mockery these small political parties are doing to TVK. Absolute display of how illiterate , undecided, selfish they are . Poor TVK Vijay making rounds of governor with a shawl every time he meets him. I think this way, only shawls will gather the numbers.

Assam has around 34% Muslim population. BJP did not give a ticket to even one Muslim candidate. Congress gave tickets to 20 Muslims out of 99 seats. Bengal has around 27% Muslim population. BJP again did not give a ticket to even one Muslim candidate. The real question should be asked of BJP: why is one religious community being systematically excluded from electoral representation? Instead, the propaganda question being pushed is: why is Congress giving tickets to Muslims? Dividing people on religious lines will never serve India. Dividing people is dividing the country.
Congress@INCIndia

Before Partition, there was a Congress and a Muslim League. After Partition, you’d expect Muslim League to move to Pakistan and Congress to stay in India? After all, ML got what it wanted from India, so there was nothing left to do in India, right? Nope. We ended up with a Pakistan Muslim League…and an Indian Union Muslim League. Not two Congresses, but two Leagues. As if there still remained something to do in India after all? We should not be taught to hate Muslims in schools. There’s no need to. Just teach history as it happened, foster critical thinking, and the rest will follow.

@bykarthikreddy Tharoor knows what he is doing. He is calling out hypocrisy by cherrypicking those examples. He is doing smartly. He knows people like us will correct him.

We always believed Shashi Tharoor was one of the few sensible voices, who will not resort to communal cherrypicking. But no. If Kerala “prioritises candidates over religious identity.” How did IUML swept 11 out of 13 Muslim-dominated seats, especially across the Malappuram belt (Thavanur's VS Joy is nothing but an outlier because of anti-incumbency) 85% of Muslim-majority seats went to the explicitly Muslim party (IUML) with Muslim candidates. Isn't this clear case communal consolidation? Central Kerala’s Christian belt remained a fortress for Christian parties and candidates. Pala, Poonjar, Thiruvalla, Changanassery, Kaduthuruthy, Puthuppally, Piravom, Muvattupuzha, Perumbavoor, Angamaly, Kothamangalam, Idukki, Erattupetta, every single one was won by Kerala Congress (Jose K Mani), Kerala Congress (Jacob), or Congress candidates with Christian names and backing. Isn' this major community-based voting, exactly what Congress loves to call “communal” when it happens elsewhere. In Muslim belts, the Muslim League dominates. In Christian belts, Christian parties dominate. And yet Tharoor wants us to celebrate three exceptions or outliers as the “real Kerala story.” Uncomfortable truth is Kerala’s minorities vote communally with high discipline. Also, the much-touted “secular” UDF alliance is, in reality, an alliance built on that communal arithmetic, IUML in Muslim areas, Kerala Congress factions in Christian areas, and Congress as the convenient umbrella. The so-called “Hindu vote” is the only one that gets fragmented and is expected to accommodate everyone else. Cherry-picking three feel-good outliers will not erase the pattern.
Shashi Tharoor@ShashiTharoor

One #KeralaStory from the recent election results that communalists should note: a Muslim majority constituency, Thavanur, elected a Christian, VS Joy; a Hindu majority constituency, Kalamassery, elected a Muslim. VE Abdul Gafoor; and a Christian majority constituency, Kochi, elected a Muslim, Muhammed Shiyas. Despite some influence from the national trends in favour of identity politics, Kerala remains a model of communal harmony, a state where people see human beings first and caste or religion later @incindia @inckerala

Even the BJP had won a historic 3 seats in Keralam. Some people are trying to create a narrative that the BJP’s vote share is only increasing slightly. So let me clarify: in 2021, the BJP contested in 113 seats, whereas now it has contested in 98 seats. In these constituencies, the vote share increased from 13% to 16%. On average, there was an increase of 4,329 votes per contested Assembly Constituency. (I am specifically referring only to the contested ACs.)

@AdAmy0796 @CRBinu1 @Satirical_Dhruv Yeah and the narrative is basically that the muslims are all out to kill Hindus which may work in other parts, coz I've met some people from north India and the first thing they ask you is religion ,not even your name . So the whole hindu muslim thing will work there but not here

This is quite unprecedented afaik. Even before removal of article 370, only around 400 additional and 750 total companies of CAPF ie 75,000 troops were deployed in J&K This is 3-4x of that deployment 😳
Megh Updates 🚨™@MeghUpdates

🚨 Just IN 🚨 2343 CAPF companies DEPLOYED for Phase 2 polls in West Bengal tomorrow. Kolkata gets the highest (274), followed by Purba Bardhaman (263) and Hooghly (236). => Each company has 80–120 personnel, taking total strength to approx 1.9 to 2.8 lakh.
