I’m publishing a sample JRPG project plan. This document has every step you need to take to create a commercial JRPG, from beginning to end. It's based on my experience working on JRPGs like Quartet, Cris Tales, Threads of Time, Coromon, My Familiar & Forge of the Fae.

@RedDuelist Pre production is king! Get your vision solidified and get a good GDD together. Then build a vertical slice. Get feedback. Then make the game, and only make small changes if absolutely necessary.

@benljbrooks They're REALLY dumb questions..... - how to set up trophies for ps5. I have the desktop app in the SDK for PS4 but not sure how to set it up for ps5 - also a bit fuzzy on how to set up cross buy now, do we have to migrate PS4 app from ps4 devnet to PS4 cross app in PS5 devnet?

@tran62_dennis @theWellRedMage I really don’t know. Too much of characters constantly talking but saying nothing. A lot of “this is my character trait!” I wonder if size limitations and the og devs (like Sakaguchi) just were better editors

@theWellRedMage What is it with modern JRPGs having dialogue bloat/pacing issues/lore dumps anyway?

20-30 hours is the perfect length for a single-player JRPG.

Finished Shadows of Adam!! Was a great game. Again, if you like old pixel Final Fantasy give it a shot. It’s not super long and doesn’t require grinding. I need to play Quartet sometime, hear it’s even better. Good job @SomethingClassc !

@theWellRedMage Xenoblade changed everything. That's kinda the second golden age for the new generation in my mind. It might even be Persona now.
