The folks at @airtelindia are such crooks. They have disabled direct customer care contact via their IVR calls for Wi-Fi so you just sit there praying to God that your Wi-Fi gets fixed and they don’t even refund you for the days lost. Because to request a refund you need to speak to customer care!

ashok challa CP: king ashok challa declared establishment of 'taat' (loving/friendly relations) between khas & jad (shauka) tribes, probably there was an ongoing dispute between them over borders, grazing lands/resources. he did this to maintain peace in region/strengthen rule.

मेरे गांव के ठीक सामने भागीरथी नदी की दूसरी ओर एक छोटा सा दस बीस घरों का मोहल्ला है ‘ओडार’, यह सालंग गांव का हिस्सा है जो वहां से तकरीबन 3 किमी दूर स्थित है। ओडार गांव के बगल में एक बहुत बड़ा झरना बहता है, जिसका जन्म गांव के उपर स्थित एक अनाम बुग्याल में होता है, हमारे इस पूरे इलाके में हर छोटी बड़ी नदी किसी न किसी बुग्याल की कोख से ही निकलती है, जब सर्दियों की दस्तक के साथ वसंत के आगमन तक भारी बर्फवारी से बुग्याल सफेद चादर तले दबे होते हैं तो हर नई बर्फवारी के दबाव में बुग्याल के सबसे नजदीकी परत पिघलकर बुग्याल की कोख में जमा विशाल जलस्रोत को रिचार्ज करती है, वसंत आगमन के बाद जब धूप तीखी हो जाती है तो बर्फ भी तेजी से पिघलकर बुग्यालों के भीतर जल भंडार को तेजी से भर देते हैं इतना कि गर्मियों के दौरान भी बुग्यालों की कोख से निकलने वाली नदियां निचले इलाकों में रहने वाले हर बाशिंदे, हर जानवर की प्यास बुझाने, पानी से जुड़ी रोजमर्रा की जरूरतों को पूरा करने के बाद भागीरथी नदी में मिलकर नदी का जलस्तर बढ़ाने का निरंतर चलने वाला काम कर सके। ओडार गांव के बगल में बहने वाली नदी भी लोगों ने हमेशा से ही बहती देखी, बरसात में रौद्र रूप में तो गर्मियों और सर्दियों के दौरान शांत रूप में, लेकिन बीते दिनों जब गांव आया तो देखा वह नदी जिस रास्ते से बहती थी, वहां पत्थरों पर शैवाल से आया कालापन साफ दिख रहा जो सदियों से नदी के पानी के नीचे छिपा रहता है, नदी गायब हो गई है, इस गर्मी में बिल्कुल सूख गई। जिससे भी पूछा उसने जवाब दिया पहली बार इसे सूखा हुआ देख रहे हैं। मैं हैरान नहीं था, पिछले कई सालों से सर्दियां सूखी और ज्यादा गर्म होने लगी है। अक्टूबर से जनवरी तक बर्फवारी नहीं होती है, लंबी सूखी सर्दियों के बाद वसंत में बर्फवारी होती है जो गिरते ही पिघलने लगती है। लिहाजा, बुग्यालों का जल भंडार सालों से रिचार्ज नहीं हो रहा, बरसात में बुग्यालों का जलस्रोत रिचार्ज नहीं होता, वह भारी बारिश का पानी सीधे बहकर भागीरथी में मिलकर उसका जलस्तर बढ़ाते हैं। बुग्यालों का ऑक्सीजन, प्राण सर्दियों में होने वाली बर्फवारी है, वसंत यानी फरवरी मार्च में होने वाली बर्फवारी उसके लिए वेंटिलेटर पर उधारी की कुछ सांसे भर है। बुग्यालों के लिए मानूसनी बारिश त्रासदी है, बुग्याल अब उतनी भारी बारिश नहीं सह पाते, बुग्याल को हल्की फुहारों के साथ कई दिनों तक होने वाली बारिश सहने लायक ही होते हैं, हम गवाह है कि मानसून के दौरान घुप्प कोहरा और कोहरे के साथ बहुत हल्की फुहारें, अब बुग्यालों में भारी बारिश होती है, बुग्याल टूट रहे हैं, हर बुग्याल टूट रहा है, बुग्यालों के प्राण उनके जलभंडार सर्दियों में बर्फवारी न होने के कारण रिचार्ज नहीं हो रहे हैं। ग्लोबल वार्मिंग, क्लाइमेट चेंज एक ब्लैक हॉल है, जो सब कुछ खा जाएगा, धीरे धीरे... ओडार के बगल में गायब हो चुके झरने की तरह बुग्यालों से निकलने वाली हर छोटी बड़ी नदी भी लापता होने लगेगी, कुछ इस साल, कुछ अगले साल, कुछ दशक भर में, बिना सहायक नदियों के भागीरथी एक पतली नदी की धारा बनकर बहेगी, गोमुख भी तेजी से पिघल रहा, कुछ सौ सालों बाद वह धारा भी गायब हो जाएगी, जब बर्फ ही गायब हो जाएगी तो सबकुछ खत्म हो जाएगा। क्लाइमेट चेंज का यह ब्लैक हॉल सबसे पहले बर्फ को निगल रहा है, फिर नदियों को निगलेगा और इन सबके साथ मानव सभ्यता भी इस ब्लैक हॉल में समाकर एक पूर्ण विराम लगा जाएगी।

@Bakwabaasa Few people use Bist rather than using Bisht. And I think Panwar and Parmar are also the same and the difference in spelling is due to the result of regional dialects and pronunciation over time

Tsen gods -fierce red gods. Name of Tonpa shenrab miwoche ie founder of Yung drung Bon is said to have been based on/influenced by these gods.

Before chapris discovered Chandrataal, it was possible to camp closeby. I did it a km away (on other side) but underestimated how cold it'd be. Climbed up the nearest ridge to get some warmth as soon as the sun came up & saw some birds and yaks froclicking in near frozen water.

@Bakwabaasa Boxi vidya will be of buksa tribe believed to be shamans having magical powers since earlier times. Once a king of garhwal (hundreds of years ago called all boxadi shamans believing them to be black magic practitioners and burnt them)

There are approximately 10 to 11 swastikas at the Kubum pictograph site (Pre Buddhist phase) which are indiscriminately oriented in both directions. Only much later did direction become a clear sectarian marker (counterclockwise for Bon, clockwise for Buddhism).

@Shauka74 I will go to malari this june and dig out some more details. sain is said to be the name of the god itself but maybe peope have forgot the exact name in malari and only remembered the category of the god. like people deify bhumiyal devta but have forgotten the exact name

In malari village, niti valley,UTTARAKHAND,the oldest god worshipped is called sain(sai).Now new gods r being worshipped by locals. Malari is famous for gold masks similar to as found in western tibet. It has a substantial population of johari people (originally shauka roots).

I think the pronunciation of tsen is quite similar to sain(sai) and origin of sain can be traced back to tsen. Sain/sai is the word used by rang tribe of uttarakhand for their gods/respectable beings.

There must be some other inconsistencies ..

Genealogy charts are being prepared like this now.Origin has been claimed from Rajasthan. Though if we peruse the names ,it is clear the names are tibetic based names. This is of a shauka Johari family.
