@Somewhatpositiv right, northern and upper hilly parts of Humla, such as Namkha and Simikot, are inhabited by Tibetan origin Buddhist communities locally known as Jad or Thapalya. In July 2024, Nepal government officially recognized them as a separate indigenous group under the name “Humlo”.

ashok challa CP: king ashok challa declared establishment of 'taat' (loving/friendly relations) between khas & jad (shauka) tribes, probably there was an ongoing dispute between them over borders, grazing lands/resources. he did this to maintain peace in region/strengthen rule.

@Bakwabaasa @DC48469195 @khabdoda In some plains regions also, some non dwija groups could wear only lower strand janeu. In Kumaon, Khas Brahmins/Thakurs wore 3 strand and dwijas who involved in widow remarriage or ploughing or married into khas groups were degraded to 3 strand janeu

शिलालेख में कुमाऊँ के चंद वंशीय राजा ज्ञान चंद (शक 1303 )द्वारा अपने विवाह और रानी को 'मुख्य रानी' का दर्जा देने का उल्लेख है।पुरालेख साधारण मकान की दीवार में लगा मिला। मध्यकाल में पुरानी शिलाओं को नए निर्माणों में लगाने की प्रथा (Spolia) कुमाऊँ सहित उत्तर भारत में आम थी।
