The charity fest is funny because it was a battle that started off in the spirit of skill/lyricism. Drake was the one who took personal shots first like he always does. He has a long-track record of doing this (specifically involving the wives/girlfriends of his opponents) and that’s why it was easy for Push to bait him, back him into a corner and win effortlessly with TSOA. Kendrick still gave him a graceful warning to keep it on theme but I’m not sure what got into his head. He was too audacious for someone who has a viral video of him kissing a minor on stage. Who the hell starts a rap battle with “talk about him liking young girls” and ends it with “this Epstein shit is what I expected”? So he knew he had that hanging over his head? He knew he was rumoured to be a weirdo and even anticipated it? Perhaps he expected the shock value to drop from him mentioning it himself. He miscalculated against one of the worst possible technically fierce opponents ever. He was performing for the audience while Kendrick was talking *to him* directly. All this babying him is total nonsense. He got into the kitchen, started a fire, got roasted exactly the way he requested and now we’re all meant to cry on his behalf? Wasn’t it the same guy throwing shots at Megan for what could’ve ended her life? Where was this energy then? Where were all the hiphop OGs to tell him to stop or keep it classy? I’ve never seen someone with such a long history of aiming at people carelessly and relentlessly get treated like a make a wish kid after he gets humbled and then run like a crybaby to court. Hubris.
