Cenk Uygur is a leftist. One of the ‘good’ ones, but still. I would love for him to be wrong, but he won’t be. This has been the most consequential, and evil, bait and switch of our lifetimes, and MAGA is being played like a fiddle.
Cenk Uygur@cenkuygur

Here we go. Once Netanyahu has ordered in ground troops, then it's a guarantee. American politicians are not allowed to disagree. Watch. You'll see Trump will follow his orders like a dog. Then they'll pretend landing troops on Iranian islands doesn't count. Propaganda incoming.

More than half of Palestinian child detainees have no charges ‘These numbers come at a time when Palestinian children consistently report appalling and debilitating conditions within Israeli detention facilities, including being withheld from adequate food and water, being subjected to beatings and verbal harassment, lacking access to medical care, and being subjected to torture, including the use of solitary confinement. Israel continues to disallow the International Committee of the Red Cross from visiting any Palestinian detainees held in Israeli places of detention, as it has done so since October 7, 2023.The use of torture and arbitrary detention against children is in direct contradiction to Article 37 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which Israel has ratified. Lawyers representing Palestinian detainees continue to face increasing barriers to legal representation, including the cancellation of scheduled visits, severe limitations on visiting hours, prolonged delays extending for months, and bans on bringing in even basic case materials. Lawyers are also forbidden from passing on simple messages from families, and children who wish to pass along messages to their families through a lawyer have been beaten.’ dci-palestine.org/more_than_half…

A Cork Safety Alerts follower has reported spotting Hemlock Water Dropwort washed up on Front Strand beach in Youghal yesterday, Wednesday 18 March. A previous sighting was also reported at Mall beach in the town. This is one of Europe’s most toxic plants. Do not touch it and keep children and pets well away. If you or your pet have had any contact with it, seek medical or veterinary attention immediately.

Ignorance, the root and stem of all evil
Right now everyone is posting viral videos showing how Netanyahu, in 1996, 1996, 2001, 2006, 2015, 2018, 2024, 2025 kept repeating that “in a matter of months Iran will obtain nuclear weapons” Of course, this level of lying is a disgrace for any politician — but an even greater disgrace for the herd of sheep that keeps voting for him. But that’s not even the point. Back in 1982, at the very beginning of his career, while holding a very minor position, Netanyahu stated in an interview with an American channel that the Soviet Union must be destroyed. This animalistic hatred of Russia that Netanyahu carries goes back to his teacher Begin and to the teacher of his teacher — Jabotinsky. For those who don’t know: Jabotinsky was essentially an Israeli version of Hitler, Bandera, and Enver Pasha all rolled into one — and possibly worse. A non-human in every sense of the word. And this hatred found fertile ground among a certain part of the post-Soviet immigrants in Israel, for whom the destruction of Russia has become the very meaning of their existence. So don’t be fooled into thinking that if Israel breaks Iran, it will calm down. The goal of people like Netanyahu is to subjugate the entire world to their sect, crushing any and all resistance. #Netanyahu

But rich investors make lots of money out of it, so it’s fine with them.
Rep. Jim McGovern@RepMcGovern

23 years ago tonight, in an Oval Office address, George W. Bush announced the start of the Iraq War. 4,492 American service members were killed in the years that followed. 32,292 were wounded. At least 200,000 Iraqi civilians died. The humanitarian impact was immense. America wasted 9 years and 3 trillion dollars on a war that never should have happened—a war predicated on a lie, pushed by warmongering neocon politicians, and paid for by everyday people. Imagine what that $3 trillion could have bought here at home. Imagine the decade we could have spent focusing on America, our people, our place in the world. Imagine the lives our service members, stolen from us, would have lived. But instead, the president took us to war. Yet another costly quagmire in the Middle East. I voted against the Iraq War. I knew the White House would lie to Members of Congress and voters alike to manufacture the pretext for a conflict—and they did. Now, Iran is shaping up to be Iraq 2.0—new lies, new bloodthirsty politicians, still paid for by American families. Yesterday, we learned that Trump wants another $200 billion for his war. That's after Congress already gave the Pentagon more money than it even asked for in the budget. Enough is enough. It is not too late to learn from the past. Stop this madness. Bring our troops home. End this war.

The F-35 was supposed to be unkillable. That was the whole point. Lockheed Martin spent thirty years and four hundred billion dollars, the most expensive weapons programme in human history, building an aircraft that the enemy simply could not see. Not on radar. Not on infrared. Not on anything. The F-35 was not just a fighter jet. It was a theological statement. America’s way of saying: we have moved beyond the reach of your missiles, your sensors, and your prayers. Iran apparently didn’t get the memo. Somewhere over Iranian airspace on March 19, 2026, an IRST system, infrared search and track, the kind of sensor your grandmother could probably explain, looked up, found the F-35, and locked on. Not because Iranian engineers are geniuses. Because the F-35, it turns out, is extremely hot. All that engine. All that thrust. All that carefully sculpted stealth geometry, and the bloody thing glows like a kettle. The heat signature data Iran now holds is not just embarrassing. It is a gift that keeps giving. To Moscow. To Beijing. To every procurement ministry on the planet that has been quietly wondering whether to spend the money on systems designed to kill this aircraft. The answer, as of this week, is yes. And here is the bit that should really worry the Pentagon. You can patch software. You can redesign coatings. You cannot reprogramme a pilot’s brain. Every F-35 driver who takes off from here on knows, actually knows, that someone down there might be able to see them. That changes everything about how they fly. Caution replaces aggression. Hesitation replaces instinct. Four hundred billion dollars. And in the end, it was done in by a heat sensor. Tremendous. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

This exchange just happened in Congress. Senator Cohen to FBI Director Kash Patel: “The people you fired were experts on Iran, were they not?” Patel: “I don’t believe so.” Cohen: “They worked in counterintelligence, did they not?” Patel: “I’m taking you at your word.” Cohen: “You’re the director. I’m not. You should know the answer.” The Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation does not know who he fired. Does not know if they were Iran experts. Does not know if they worked in counterintelligence. Is taking a senator’s word for it. This is the man running America’s domestic intelligence agency during the most severe national security crisis since 9/11. Iran has activated sleeper cells. Encrypted communications intercepted as operational triggers. A war with no exit strategy. Joe Kent resigned because the investigation was stopped. Charlie Kirk’s last words to Kent: stop us from getting into a war with Iran. And the FBI Director doesn’t know who he fired. Or what they knew. Or what America lost when they left. Never stop connecting the dots.

Like I told you guys, all European and NATO countries are providing intel, logistics, and cover in dif ways, but some additional details: x.com/LakenheathAfP/…
LakenheathAllianceForPeace@LakenheathAfP

@richimedhurst The UK, Germany, Italy, Portugal and others allow F-35, F-22, F-15s as well as C-17s and KC-135 refuelling planes to fly over their territories as they deploy in the Middle East. Not allowing a few B1s to overfly is just about public perception not keeping out of the conflict.
