Cllr Lydia Hyde (@LabourLydia) is the new Cabinet member for Climate, Environment and Waste, bringing her expertise as a scientist to this role at a crucial time for the council and the environment

Following yesterday’s special council meeting to remove the Conservative administration, Southend Labour is delighted to announce which of our councillors are part of the cabinet in the new joint administration agreement.

Did this appear in the independent group and libDem election material ? Did residents know what they were voting for ? Have the electorate been consulted on this alliance ? What has changed since last year when someone was a red line and they wouldn’t work with him ?

@SouthendLabour @KeithEvansInd Labour have 20. Maths has never been your strong point! The rest are Lib Dems (Labour sympathisers) and ‘The Southend Independent Socialist Party’. Southend will ultimately pay for your personal aspirational ideology over what’s best for the city.
