Criticizing a rebuilding team that's putting up a good fight is proof that you're "paying attention."
Those who say irrelevant things about the Swallows or White Sox are simply harboring an ugly desire for us to be more miserable, and they don't like it when the fans seem to be having fun.
Definitely Nick@other_st_nick
Sox fans are so funny because they’re all “we’re so back” and “the Sox are good again” then you look and they’re below .500

@StotheOB @JacobsFieldRBW Again if you’re pitching around Murakami in hopes to get to Montgomery (.726 OPS Men On is nothing to sneeze at) that means you fear him at the plate
English

@SoxFarmReport @JacobsFieldRBW 60% of his PA have been in the 2 spot
17.2 BB% as 2nd
20.0 BB% as 3rd
As said, Vargas similar massive spikes
2.5 HR%, 10.4 BB% - career
4.2 HR%, 16.4 BB% - 2026
2-3 are only tough spots in lineup
Montgomery gets walked often MenOn, & isnt much threat RISP. Bases Empty hitter

English

@StotheOB @JacobsFieldRBW Vargas and Montgomery hit after Murakami . He is in the 2 spot 90% of the time.
English

@SoxFarmReport @JacobsFieldRBW Why wouldnt you when theres no one around him?
Look at Luis Robert. He was being walked at a rate more than twice what he normally had because not a single other guy in the lineup could hit the ball. Robert cant hit worth a shit; but could hit better than rest of Mets lineup
English

@StotheOB @JacobsFieldRBW Giving a rookie the prime Bonds treatment is an interesting strategy.
English

@SoxFarmReport @JacobsFieldRBW Both
When he cant hurt you much, no need to walk him (as you say, no protection)
When he can hurt you, walk him (as you say, no protection)
Vargas is seeing exact same thing (massive spike in HR% and BB%) for same exact reason, as the two alternative between 2-3 in the lineup
English

@JacobsFieldRBW @StotheOB No they cant.
Are they pitching around him or throwing him meatballs?
Or does he have good plate discipline and layoff the bad pitches and crush the meatballs
English

@SoxFarmReport @StotheOB Both can simultaneously be true
English

@StotheOB @JacobsFieldRBW Yea, except theyre arguing theyre throwing him meatballs.
So which is it?
Not challenging him with low and away sliders? Or pitching around him because he has no lineup protectionz
English

@SoxFarmReport @JacobsFieldRBW He has the more walks BECAUSE he has less lineup protection
You dont walk a guy when theres a good bat behind them. You walk guys when there isnt
Prior to figuring him out, its easier to just walk him; and thats what theyre doing more & more as figure out a scouting report
English

@JacobsFieldRBW @manzosmustache And hes not as good as any of them. But if he puts up a fraction of the production he will win ROY.
Point was whiff rate is high on the best sluggers
English

@SoxFarmReport @manzosmustache Murakami - 43.7
Judge - 33.8
Schwarber - 32.8
Ohtani - 28.2
It’s not particularly close

Ladies and gentlemen, we have ourselves a friendly wager
SoxFarmReport@SoxFarmReport
@JacobsFieldRBW @robertsteele135 I like it. Thats more fun anyway. Change profile picture to the winner for a month? Im a new account so ill try to make it fair. You win I change my PFP to the winner for the whole offseason I win you change your PFP to Murakami for 2 weeks Does this work?
English

@manzosmustache @JacobsFieldRBW Look at Judge, Ohtani, Schwarber whiff rate.
Deutsch

@SoxFarmReport @JacobsFieldRBW brother all you have to do is look at that whiff rate to know he's gonna cool off
English

English

@SoxFarmReport @robertsteele135 I’m a father so I don’t bet money but I will bet profile pic or single tweet rights within reason
English

Chase DeLauter and because it isn’t

Benson@Miggysbat
Who is your AL Rookie of the Year and why is it Kevin McGonigle?
English

@JacobsFieldRBW @robertsteele135 I got Murakami, you pick Delauter or McGonigle. Im down for small monetary bet or whatever you want
English

@SoxFarmReport @robertsteele135 They don’t have a AA all-star game or MVP award but I’m down for a friendly RoTY wager nonetheless
English

@JacobsFieldRBW Cmon man he has 10 more walks than Delauter and 8 more than McGonigle with less lineup protection. Its called plate discipline. You think they just decided to throw meatballs to a known Power hitter? You think these pitchers don’t research these guys?
English

@SoxFarmReport I do. When some of those homers turn into doubles or triples, his OPS will drop considerably.
I also think the league will start to throw him more tough breaking pitches in the zone and the strikeout rate will go up.
English

@JacobsFieldRBW No, do you think he wont hit any Doubles or Triples?
English

@SoxFarmReport Hey man I know you’re a White Sox fan and I admire the optimism but do you genuinely think Munetaka Murakami is going to end up with 60 homers?
English

@JacobsFieldRBW @robertsteele135 AA is the biggest gauge of success/skill compared to every other MiLB level. If CDL and McGonigle had the same accolades in AA this would be a closer discussion.
But I am willing to do a friendly wager on it.
English

@SoxFarmReport @robertsteele135 I think the NPB is somewhere around AA in terms of talent and I don’t value these awards the way you seem to.
DeLauter and McGonigle have won plenty of awards, too. MLB is a different league and not all skills translate.
English

@JacobsFieldRBW @robertsteele135 Which of their accolades do you value higher than these? Or do you think NPB isnt close to the same comp level as college and the Minors?

English

@SoxFarmReport @robertsteele135 Chase DeLauter and Kevin McGonigle both have longer success pre-MLB than Murakami and all three have almost the exact same OPS
