@SuperCoachNRL I already feel sorry for him. The team picked is going to struggle and he'll be blamed for another loss.

🔐 LOCKOUT LOCK-IN 🔐
The most wonderful weekend of the year has finally arrived, and there’s potentially season-ending decisions to be made. Here’s my thoughts on it all, it’s time to lock in ⤵️
🪑Sit v Starts: If Couchman & Lisati aren’t automatic starters in your side, your team is in a pretty good place. As far as CTW matchups go, the well-owned players stack up against soft defences for the most part. In saying that, it could be a good week to sit Setu Tu if you still own.
📈Marzhew v Isaako: Conundrum of the week. My gut is telling me to go with Marzhew, despite my head telling me Isaako is the smarter play with better coverage. I’ve let too many must have players go through to the keeper this year (Sasagi, Twal), so I’ve preemptively got Marzhew & hoping he continues this run of form. Could go either way, honestly.
💰 Sell premium hookers? Lots of sides will own Grant & Brailey heading into Magic Round, or at least one of them & Brandon Smith. With Origin, HIAs, and the emergence of Oliver Pascoe - there’s a world where I’m selling Grant/Brailey to free up cash for a rookie HOK with insane bye coverage. How many trades do I have to use at hooker this year, and sell Grant or Brailey?
🧢 Captains Call: Teddy, Ponga, Cleary all on my radar this week, and my VC/C will be some combination of those three. Teddy playing for an Origin jersey reeks of an obvious VC pick though, and its not as if he’s been missing out on points of late. The 2pm Sunday game v Titans I like for Ponga, there’s no need to analyse it further.
🐉 Love for Loko: A fan favourite, Loko Pasifiki Tonga, gets a start this weekend. Certainly one I’m keeping an eye on with his average PPM of 1.2. Having only played 30mins off the bench to date, any decent increase of minutes (hoping for 40-45 at least) will make him relevant at only $329k. Dragons’ forwards are the only ones I’m willing to consider currently.

@ask10inthebin Hope you're right about Leka. Been waiting for him to hit some last year form for weeks

👨✈️Early Armband Analysis👨✈️Magic Round Special 🪄
With a huge weekend of footy coming up at Suncorp Stadium, I wanted to do things differently here and pick 2 options on the Saturday and 2 options on the Sunday (Friday’s games don’t appeal quite as much from a SC perspective).
🔵 Vice Captains - James Tedesco 🐔; Sua Fa’alogo ⛈️
- Either of these superstar full backs are genuine locks as VC options with soft matchups on Saturday.
- Tedesco scores tonnes in his sleep, he’ll do the same again against the Cowboys.
- Sua owners have been given the ultimate reprieve with him cleared of any major damage.
- If named, he’s a walk up VC options for a Storm side that will take a heap of confidence out of Sunday’s win.
🟠 Captains - Kalyn Ponga ⚔️; Nathan Cleary 🐆
- Both put up 140 last round, both could easily go even larger this week.
- I’d argue their respective matchups are the 2 best of the round and the players themselves are in scintillating form with Origin around the corner.
- With looping in mind on Sunday, I’m personally going to look to VC Ponga into C Cleary, if Ponga goes huge, Setu Tu drops out and Sasagi gets the armband. Just make sure if you’re looking at a player late in the round you have a viable loop option, and that you’re in a mental state to be able to execute after a couple of huge days in the best city in the world.
Alternates:
- Yes I’m putting Jackson Ford here again. If you hate chasing 200s with Nathan/KP, a safe 110 on Sunday afternoon may help mitigate the Sunday Scaries on Day 3 of the biggest round of the season.
- Jenkins, McLean, Marzhew, Sharpe; all players with huge ceilings and would be so fun to own this week.
- If you feel extra spicy, Leka Halasima running at Ezra Mam could yield a huge score (maybe not as your Captain, but a wonderful POD trade in this week).
