Great to see the @MDA_space LIDAR in action during field trials at Spaceport America, before it heads to the Moon. Developed in the UK, the instrument uses light pulses to generate a 3D map of the surrounding area, perfect for helping spacecraft land on tricky terrain.

MDA joined @Int_Machines in @Spaceport_NM for a field trial to test MDA’s space LIDAR (LEIA) for their IM-2 mission, which will aim to fly one of the first commercial missions to the South Pole of the Moon! 🌑 @spacegovuk

The drag sails are ready for microgravity testing! 🚀✈️♻️ After one exhausting week of assembly, testing and pre-flight checks, our drag sail technology demonstrator is fully operational and integrated on the A310-AirZeroG aircraft. Experiment is good to go!
