It is my pleasure to announce that two of our team on Operations, Corporal Daniel Crombie and Major Matthew Reeves, have been awarded a US Air and Space Achievement Medal from the Commander of US Space Forces-Central, Brigadier General Todd J. Benson. Well done to you both!

I was proud to review today’s graduation of the inaugural Space workforce Initial Employment Training course – this is a pivotal milestone in building Australia’s professional space workforce which furthers our mission to generate and deliver ADF space power.

It was a great pleasure to award Wing Commander Adam Carroll, the Commanding Officer of our 1 Space Surveillance Unit, with the second clasp to his Long Service Medal, recognising 25 years of service and duty. Thank you for your dedication to the Space Command mission!

The visit included a live demonstration of 𝗔𝗧𝗟𝗔𝗦-𝗥, EOS Space Systems’ next generation, relocatable 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 (SDA) and 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 in development, designed to operate day and night, deploy within hours, and rapidly relocate as operational conditions evolve. The ATLAS family of ground-based high energy laser Space Control systems is scalable to mission needs and offered in fixed, mobile, and relocatable configurations. These systems can be deployed globally to ensure freedom of action in orbit, support high value asset protection, and deliver strategic advantage in an increasingly contested space domain. Discussions during the visit reinforced the importance of resilient deterrence, through deployable architectures as critical enablers for allied and coalition operations. EOS Space Systems values strong engagement and continued collaboration with partners across the allied space enterprise to put critical capability into the hands of our warfighters.

Lieutenant General Gregory Gagnon participated in a moving tribute at the Australian War Memorial Last Post ceremony on Friday, and attended the ANZAC Day Dawn Service in Yass – lest we forget.

It was great to host the Commander of the US Space Force’s Combat Forces Command, Lieutenant General Gregory Gagnon, this week to discuss the employment of joint US-AUS Space assets and capabilities, shared priorities and industry opportunities.
