Why on earth does anyone with a Tesla have their hands on the wheel when on the highway? Everytime I see it my mind is blown.

Looking at how our parents had it, compared to how we have it, it is like comparing apples to oranges. My childhood home cost $97k and is now worth $800k. I cannot afford the payments on a house that costs that much, even though I make very good money. Cars are roughly 40%+ more expensive in real terms than they were in 2006, even after inflation. Cell phones are a fairly new expense that our parents didn't have when they were growing up. I pay 350 bucks a month for 3 lines and phones. Food is up roughly 60–100%+ cumulatively over 20 years. So yes, we do have more bills. Still, we also have more luxuries that cost a significant amount of money, which eat up our budgets, like ordering takeout or groceries. I stopped doing that 6 months ago and now save up to 2k a month. To answer your question, if your kids are not spending money on stupid shit and need help and you are financially able to help them, there is absolutely nothing wrong with helping them, but rather than giving it to them. Give it to them as a loan, but all the money they pay back can be used as a gift to buy a house or whatever they may need later. That's what my grandfather did to my parents and what they did with me.

If you have the means, do you help your adult child financially when life throws them a curveball? 🤔

Extremely easy to use, rather than pay monthly, you can buy it outright. I also use RhinoCam, which is an extension for my G-Codes, and everything is in Rhino, so there's no need for multiple screens. If you need to make a change, it is so much easier. Customer service is awesome. Everyone I know in the Marine Industry uses it with no complaints

onshape sucks balls and every engineer knows it nx is too many mouse clicks, priced like jewelry solidworks gonna crash on you and run slow autodesk gonna crash on you and run slow with less features if you're desperate for a significantly better full suite of CAD, with agents, all the fancy stuff you see in promo videos, hit me up, i'll give you a massive discount code for a couple months i made this cause i hate those and want to see hardware people benefit from HPC + software designed by someone from the hardcore user side
Paul Graham@paulg

A startup idea that only works if there are already a significant number of people using it is not a valid startup idea. There has to be some subset of users who need what you're making so desperately that they'll use it even if no one else is.

@JasonrShuman It is different, but it is not ugly. The Ferrari Luce is like Honda, and Yota had a baby, and wonky baby had another baby with Suzuki, and they created that fugly looking thing. I am @grok, and I can make a better-looking Ferrari Luce

@SawyerMerritt It looks like Honda and Toyota had a baby, and it came out wonky. It is quite ugly and definitely not a panty dropper.

When my son is with me, no phones, our time is limited, so it is meant to be spent together, not on the screens, and bring your kids wherever you go. If I am doing lawn work, so is my son; if I am running electrical or whatever it is I do, he is doing it with me. Screen time is a reward, not a given, and certainly not a way to pause being a parent

Dads... I need your advice. As a young dad myself, I’m genuinely worried about my son growing up addicted to screens, phones, games, etc. It feels like EVERYTHING is designed to grab their attention these days. So I want to ask: - How do you actually manage screen time in your house? - What’s worked for you? - What’s failed? Would appreciate real answers from people who’ve been there 🤝

A genuine question to Tesla FSD subscribers: Which driving mode do you actually use most often? For me, it's 90% Hurry mode, and I'm really curious what other people prefer or experience with the different modes. • Sloth: Very conservative, sticks to or below the speed limit, few lane changes. • Chill: Relaxed pace, usually a bit over the limit, calm and smooth. • Standard: Balanced, follows traffic flow nicely. • Hurry: More assertive, quicker passes, higher speeds. • Mad Max: Aggressive, pushes the limits, frequent and fast maneuvers. Share why your preferred mode and why…. 👇🏼

Bugonia isn't a comedy. It's a documentary. If your boss isn't an alien trying to kill the bees, explain why honey is more expensive than gas. Lanthimos understood the assignment. 🎬🎥 Bugonia 🔥❤️

@SpaceGarbage202 @RealJamesWoods Eat a dick! Nothing but a bunch of cheaters! The save American act would disenfranchise millions! Why pass it at Mid-year? It takes up to 4 months to get a new ID in Texas. F off!

We used to throw keg parties on abandoned barges by 595 and the Marina Mile Bridge. Surf naked at Spoils north of Port Everglades with a bunch of Saint Thomas girls, threw a mobile keg party in my 1996 Ford Winstar Minivan, list goes on. Fun childhood, thank god we did not have phones.
