Sat on SP500 BUY trade for nearly a month but finally closed today for +1.5% 🔥 🔥
Hugely proud that my risk profile was effective enough to weather all the turmoil of the last month.

We are currently only at 54% of the correction we experienced in the Market in April 2025 following the initial impact of Trumps tariffs.
We have not even started to experience the long term damage of the conflict in Iran. But it seems in recent times, long term damage is secondary to short term sentiment when it comes to market price.
I have 0 experience or authority in conflict economics, I do intent to take advantage of lower prices but at least for the next week I will not be adding buy positions until I see how price settles over the next few days.

@TradersConf Not realising this after $5k just shows you are retarded

@JacktheFXtrader Word of advice - these lines only work in hindsight. They are not predictive.

Road to consistency
Day 5
Coming to the end of the first week
It looked like it was just going to be a breakeven week
But I took 2 trades today both ended up losing
1st one wasn't valid, I set a buy stop not a buy limit and got tagged before confirmation was confirmed
2nd one was valid idea imo, but given it was 5M trade idea and 1M execution and not 15M trade idea it was far to aggressive and wasn't valid to set
But i'll see what @Bradskucetrades says about it in the morning, learn from it and keep moving forward
I've simplified and systemised my approach for April and the last few days of March
So any mistakes or rule breaks going forward are due to a lack of discipline
I will have a much better April, and I will make sure I get back on the right track
This month has been a serious learning curve for me, now it just comes down to clean and consistent execution

@SpacemanTrader man love seeing this. focusing on quality trades over quantity is a solid approach.

GBPCHF hit target for +0.2% and half left in.
SP500 secondary position at 6668.92 hit TP for +0.3% and original position sitting in floating DD for now.

@StockCuppa I have a similar approach I prefer to be a bit more aggressive on an eval and much more conservative once funded.
My risk on funded accounts is so low I worry way more about my evals. I barely think about my funded ones as they just keep ticking over.
English

My max daily risk on evals is more aggressive than it has mostly been —
✅ I used to take one trade per day; if loss it's a loss. If win it's a win. My R targets over the last 4 years have ranged from 1-5R. Quite the range! Currently, I take up to 5 trades per day on challenges.
✅ My risk per trade has also varied a lot. I've gone from 0.1 lots when I didn't have a clue what I was doing and desperately trying to get out of -9% DD 🫠 To 2% risk per trade when I was super aggressive.
My policy today is 1.5% risk per trade on up to 5 trades per day. If I take a loss or have floating (untrailed) risk, my max risk at any point in a single day is -3.75% — allowing for fees to still keep me inside that -5% max daily risk threshold.
If I'm on a losing streak, I can take 2 x 1.5% trades, then a final 0.75% trade if back-to-back losses to keep me inside of my -3.75% self-imposed daily limit. Max 2.5 losing trades per day.
And if I hit my max daily loss, I'm done. But if I'm winning, I will continue executing trade signals if presented, offering up to a total of 5 winning trades for a +10% payoff. (Rare!)
10/3.75=2.66R upside on that heightened risk.
Verifications reduce that format by a third (e.g 1% vs 1.5%).
While I don't need to be this aggressive, the value I place on my time has increased. I don't get that time back. I also believe a key sort of edge is in buying challenges that individually aren't considered expensive, and can even be treated as somewhat disposable.
I feel like many traders who never make real progress, overvalue challenge phases, leading them to take forever, and/or fail to capitalise on those weeks where the market is really digging our edge 😎
Scared money doesn't make money.
Have a good weekend all 👋

@TheH0n3stTrader Risk management is my edge. If you think pretty patterns give you more of an edge than proper risk management you don’t understand trading.

@TheH0n3stTrader I’d be so miserable with only hundreds of thousands.
