A successful, involved, capitalist father with high expectations for his less smart son can unintentionally create reaction formation in the son, and the son thus builds his identity in opposition to him. Our worldview is often a mirror of our childhood.

@SteveKountourou @A_McQuarrie Same with the man city game. Ref pulled back that clear advantage and city don’t score. Ref single handily changed the outcome. (I’m a United fan btw). I want my team to beat the opp not win off technicalities.

@SteveKountourou @A_McQuarrie Also the PK on Aek could’ve been given or not it was a bit soft. I thought the foul on sidibe was a worse foul than the PK on Pineda, but I would have to watch it again.

@Spanman18 @A_McQuarrie Two wrong don't make a right imo re. Yes AEK definitely should've been given a penalty too but it makes him look even worse as a referee to give neither.

AEK incredibly lucky with two shocking refereeing decisions vs Olympiakos. Still 2-1 ahead. On the other hand, Olympiakos are lucky there are no fans in the stadium. The riot would be worth a five point deduction at the very least.

@A_McQuarrie @SteveKountourou I’m not defending the ref in any capacity. He made wrong calls constantly. To argue this one is though where his arm is above his head and it hits the bicep is off. The penalty call should be looked at.

I think it’s worth a reminder that Greece is still a team of conference league and Europa League level players competing with Champions league players for a spot at the euros. No coach is perfect, but we still need to be realistic about our actual level. Not the past. #NEDGRE

@PanoTheShow From 70th and on we played top caliber soccer so I was happy. I can’t stand to watch bouchalakis play when we have konstatelias on the bench I would rather siopis in the DM spot than him.

@Spanman18 Ioannidis thrived off scraps. Def not a dig at him just an example of our own errors that worked to our detriment. The result was there for us.

At the end of the day, We aren’t having this conversation if little things like Ioannidis simply slipping the ball to Masouras who had a wide open net or a number of other self inflicted errors get cleaned up. It’s margins, it’s decision making. That goes for Players AND coach.

@Spanman18 Well, for what it’s worth, we had a U21 CB who is at Atletico Madrid that has now selected Greece. There’s no believable official line. We know it’s because Ketsbaia has an issue with the player’s dad.

@ThisIsMappa Unfortunately the same happens in the Greek national team. If we could cultivate our youth and our super league doesn’t help with cultivating them either. (Besides paok lately even though I’m an Aek fan)

@Spanman18 The smoking and partying thing is rare nowadays. Unfortunately, corruption and nepotism is rife. A few U21 players have either chosen other national teams or are contemplating it because they know their opportunities for the main squad are few and far between
