I’m out here literally rehearsing a puppet show rn @notanicecat69 @lepuppeteerfou Idk what the criteria for puppet honoraries is. But this is legit what I do for work, and have for a decade. Starting a 6 week national tour of my award winning puppet musical in 10 days. Want me to give a puppetry tutorial to bitcoin puppet holders or something? I feel like a fool begging and being ignored like this :( I know you owe me nothing. Can you understand how I feel tho? Literally a puppeteer. I write puppet shows. I perform in them. I teach puppetry. Last year I was a puppeteer for Coldplay in front of 120k people. Then bitcoin puppets appear and I’m swiftly priced out, because I’m not some crypto whale. I am… a puppeteer. Idk how much you know about the craft, but it’s humble, technical, under-appreciated and highly disciplined (study Bunraku) (Wasn’t paid well for Coldplay gig btw. I do this work cos I love the artform)

I see this and it occasionally makes me want to quit producing art for web3. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy if your gamble pumped and you are up, but… Why bother striving for artistic quality in a world where quality doesn’t matter? If this were only about money to me, I could just pay a bunch of morally depraved influencers to pump something I scribbled on a napkin and push whatever speculative narrative we engineer. 🫠

Randomly watching some classic Sesame Street from 1979 feat. Henson & @TheFrankOzJam. It's easy to forget just how great these bits are. Puppetry that's a little looser & fluid than today's with fully realized, emotionally complex characters. So good. (Photo via @MuppetWiki)
