The Opensource AMD driver is coming to Windows
To summarize:
- Drivers on Linux are opensource(unless NVIDIA+ a few others)
- The linux AMD driver is called RADV
- Collabora is porting the driver to Windows
- Main benefit: shared codebase between OSes, Game devs and the community on both Windows can both participate to make driver fixes and improvements
- Effort funded by Valve
- Counter Strike 2 runs
