@TheBonePone I did, however, get a laugh when I found out that 'Cutie Mark' is a play on the term 'Beauty Mark'.

@TheBonePone I personally find the show goofy in most aspects of it, which I think is part of the reason why I like it and therefore didn't bat much of an eye at the term 'Cutie Mark' when I'm watching a show centered around the lives of mythical, pastel-coloured equines.

I always found cutie marks so weird. I like the concept, don't get me wrong, but man... the name. Can't get over how goofy the name is, even when it's used in serious scenarios I laugh. It's just too childish, even for MLP. Anyone have any better name ideas for them?
