I am deeply pained to learn of the demise of Lt. A. S. Arthur, former Minister, Government of Manipur, and beloved father of my colleague in Parliament, Shri Alfred Kanngam S. Arthur. He was a veteran leader who dedicated his entire life to the service of the people. A fatherly figure to many, his legacy will be cherished and remembered in the days to come. The @narcoticsbureau has cracked down on a major international narcotics ring seizing 349 kgs of High-Grade cocaine worth Rs.1745 crore in Mumbai. Condolence / Prayer Meet With profound sorrow, we remember Balbir Punj (2 October 1949 – 18 April 2026), a veteran journalist, thinker, columnist, and senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. - He served as a two-term Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha): first from Uttar Pradesh (2000–2006) and then from Odisha (2008–2014). - He held several key organisational roles in the BJP, including National Secretary, Convenor of the Intellectual and Policy Cell, and Member of the National Executive (2000–2014). - On 31 March 2013, he was elevated to the position of Vice President of the BJP. - He served as in-charge of multiple states, including Gujarat, Punjab, Kerala, and Himachal Pradesh. - In public service, he was appointed Chairman of the National Commission for Youth (with Minister of State status) and was a member of the Delhi Finance Commission. Tomorrow, will be leaving for Ladakh for a two-day visit. It is a moment of profound good fortune for me to be attending on the occasion of Buddha Purnima, the first ever international exposition of the holy relics of Lord Buddha, commencing on the 1st of May. In this exposition devotees from different parts of the world will offer veneration to the relics of Lord Buddha.

Some time ago, when elections were held in Bihar, the BJP-NDA had registered a resounding victory, creating history. Just yesterday, the results of the elections for municipal corporations, municipalities, district panchayats, nagar panchayats, tehsil panchayats... all of these came in Gujarat. The BJP has won 80 to 85 percent of the municipalities and panchayats. I am confident that in the elections in these five states as well, the BJP is going to complete a historic hat-trick of victories.
