This influencer asked this Texas bbq food truck in Japan to do a collab. Not only did he arrive two days early but he even brought another influencer friend unannounced. He then proceeded to be disrespectful, and spit out the food. His bad review is making the food truck now struggle. I never liked the idea of someone who is expecting free food in exchange for publicity and exposure. It seems rather one sided to me. Many times, the influencer isn’t familiar with the culture and style of food. I feel if he wasn’t used to the flavors and he didn’t like it, he didn’t have to be over dramatic about it and spit it out. He could have just said it wasn’t to his liking. For me he lost all credibility when he said the pork ribs weren’t even Wagyu when earlier it was clear he didn’t know what Wagyu tasted like when he ate the brisket. Wagyu is a breed of cow not pig, so in a sense he was right, the pork rib isn’t Wagyu. I feel he owes them an apology for his entitled behavior. It’s a shame their business is now suffering because of someone like this.

It depends on which country, that's the difference. I suppose in neither yours or mine country, it wouldn't happen, as it would be excessive. To be fair, in mine, the cops wouldn't get called but you might get scolded by the store employee. However, if it does happen in Japan, it could be the case and even we consider it to be excessive, we don't have a say, because it's their country and they have a right to have their own rules, even if different or excessive in our minds.

Jesus, finally! Yes, it doesn't make sense. We agree up to that point. Now that we have cleared that, we can advance to the next step. Even if we disagree with the rule, we still have to respect it because it's not our country and you cannot disregard a formal rule. You need to follow the rules in the countries you visit, even if you consider they don't make sense, because you are a guest. Understand now?

In Japan you don't own something until you pay for it. If a tourist comes to Japan & rips open a package in a store before paying for it, I am 100% behind the cops being called and that person being prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Stop promoting criminal behavior.
chotu ibn bapu@chotupajeeti

@aran2560 @Digitalis_13 @bunburyoudoujp @grok Which is not as frequent at all, so it can easily be solved by paying at the cashier as they intend to anyway. Calling cops on things like this will only add unnecessary cost to your business.

No matter how well-written your series is, if it’s not visually appealing, it won’t capture as much attention. It can even be average and still be loved just because of its visuals. This is something the Japanese have understood perfectly, while the West has fallen way behind in 2D animation. They prefer to spend the entire budget on voice actors instead of delivering the best possible visual quality.

Jesus man you are fuckin stupid, that is not what I said at all. I tried explaining this to you in so many ways. I actually said the opposite of what you said, that I don't agree with the cops getting called for something so petty. You know you don't have to agree with every rule you follow, sometimes you only follow the rule even if you disagree because otherwise the world would be chaos. You keep on bringing the authority fallacy when I clearly said multiple times I'm not debating the logic behind the rule. Phalacies are flaws in logic, I said I'm not discussing the logic behind the rule, where I agree with you is not very logical and seems excessive. What I'm telling you is that this goes beyond that, only because you find a rule to be absurd (which I do), that doesn't automatically enable you to break it. SPECIALLY IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY. If we would freely choose to break each and wevey rule we found to be absurd, the world would be chaos, as everyone would do what they consider right in their own mind, and that can be quite different from one person to another. That's why society and humanity got to a point where we decided to make a standard set of rules voted by everyone. Jesus, I feel like I'm giving you a basic Civics class at this point. Don't they teach you any of this in your country?

@SpikeCuervo @bunburyoudoujp @grok So you agree that a Japanese supermarket should call cops 20 times a month because 20 people out of 20k customers a month drink their water before paying and actually paying in the end. You keep saying their country their rule which is by definition appealing to authority fallacy

I don't agree. Calling the cops 100 times over some guys opening up a cup noodle before paying, seems excessive in my opinion and it's not something I would do. HOWEVER. I have to put up with it if I go there because it's not my country, therefore, Im compelled to follow their rules. Not agreeing with it doesn't give me the right to ignore their rules, their rules, their country. There, understand now? Why can't you understand?

It's not appealing to the authority fallacy, I'm not discussing the logic behind the rule here. I'm telling you it's a matter of Rule of Law and each countries sovereignty. Additionally, the good manners each individual should have as a guest in someone else's house. I never discussed the logic of the rule, because as a foreigner I can't and it's my duty as a guest to respect it even if it seems unreasonable to me. It might seem unreasonable to you or me to call the cops over some guy pouri water in his cup noodle before paying. I wouldn't do that myself, however, it's not my country and I have to accept that's their rules and their way of handling things. The only thing I can do if I consider their rules to be absurd, is not to go. But it seems like you feel you have the right to discard all of that and bend the rule just because it is unreasonable in your opinion. That's the part I don't agree with you, because you are not only breaking that rule, you are disregarding the country's whole system and not respecting the right to set and enforce their own set of rules.

@SpikeCuervo @bunburyoudoujp @grok This is your argument, it's basically different countries have different rules appealing to authority fallacy, ok now. I understand that in Japan you can be arrested for drinking water before paying but how many times do you want cops to come? x.com/i/status/20538…
Ghost 🇦🇷🇮🇪@SpikeCuervo

Yeah you would get fuckin killed for carrying some marijuana, you're not gonna get cops or anything. KILLED. In Western countries this would be more than excessive penalty, completely disproportional to the offense. However, we don't have a right to contest their laws! The only thing we can do is not to go. So if you do not agree with Japanese rules, just don't fuckin go to their country and that's it! You don't get the right to go and trample over their regulations because you don't consider them fair. If everyone would share your same thoughts, society would fall into chaos really quick and the World would go to shit. Rules exist, if you break them, you face the consequences. If you don't like them, you are able to change them but for that, you require the majority of the population to agree with you and apart from that, YOU CAN ONLY DO SO IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY. If the Japanese laws seem unfair or ridiculous to you, there is nothing you can do about except of not going to their jurisdiction. Jesus fuckin Christ, you never got basic Civics education at all. Were you even formally educated at some point in your life?

Jesus man, can you point me exactly where do I say it makes sense? This is like the 10th time I tell you it doesn't matter if it makes sense or not. I never said it did, in fact I told you it did seem over the top for me too. But that doesn't give me the right to go there and do as I wish.

@SpikeCuervo @bunburyoudoujp @grok Listen your argument is basically every country has its own law okay that's it. In Japan opening a product before paying is considered theft, correct? So if there are 3 incidents per week it makes sense to call cops 12 times a month 🤪🤪🤪🤪

No, it doesn't. I never said it made sense. I don't know if this is language barrier thing. What I said is that it doesn't matter if it makes sense to me or not. It's not my country, therefore, my views or opinions on their rules don't matter at all. The only thing I can do if I don't like other country rules is not to go.

First of all I didn't say drug dealers, don't put words in my mouth. I said small possession of drugs, which is a much lesser offense. Then, wether that is good business practice or not, it's not our problem. It doesn't matter what we think or which our opinions are. Their country, their rules. We can consider them absurd or not, that's irrelevant as it is not our country. More so, we don't have the right to bend them for thinking they are not right.

That's the part you can't comprehend. Since I don't agree with getting executed over some small amount of drug, what I do is I don't go to that country and if I do, I make sure I respect their laws. I don't have a right to break their rules. I either not go to Singapore or if I go, I make sure I follow their rules. It doesn't matter if I agree with Singaporean rules or not, those are the only two options I have. There is no third option where I get to break the rules for considering them unfair. My opinion doesn't matter, it's not my country, it's theirs.
