Meet #SARK9 Canik 🐺 He’s an AMPWDA-certified HRD dog with Valley Water Rescue. Even early in his career, he has already helped bring a victim home to their family through a blizzard & freezing temperatures. He has also assisted law enforcement on cold & active criminal cases. Spike’s Pack, an update on SAR K9 Rambo. 🐺❤️‍🩹 Last year, Rambo was diagnosed with severe bilateral hip dysplasia & needed total hip replacement on both hips. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to help cover the cost of his diagnosis & surgery. After a long recovery, Rambo is now cleared to ease back into work & even enjoy some tug play again. His vet is thrilled with his progress & now Rambo is on track to return to the field healthy, pain-free & ready to save lives. You made this possible, Spike’s Pack. Spike’s K9 Fund was founded by retired Naval Special Warfare Operator, James Hatch. As a K9 handler on multiple deployments, James’ life was often saved by the work of K9s—one of the most memorable being Spike. On his final deployment, the night he was critically wounded, a K9 saved his life but lost its own. Spike’s K9 Fund’s mission is to serve the working K9 population of the United States of America (active & retired police, military & SAR) through healthcare cost supplementation, high-quality equipment assistance & educational opportunities for the K9s and their partners.
