@SpitfireFilly I met Barnes Wallis. He came to give a talk at my school when we were growing up. V excited before but talk was dreary. At the time just disappointed I didn’t learn how he thought, now suspect he had ASD.

@SpitfireFilly Having seen this collection many times in situ in a recreation of Barnes Wallis' room at what was the Bomber Command Museum at Hendon, I feel sad that these are being dispersed in this way.

You’re correct about military historians keeping abreast of current events, bringing their training and knowledge to those events. Our politicians should be seeking that sage advice and knowledge too.
