It’s a catch-22. I have no opinion one way or the other. I’ve seen parents give kids this ultimatum, kids leave, run the streets and the daughter comes back a year and a half later pregnant or the son with a pregnant GF in tow. It’s a hard decision. You like them at the house, safe and secure but they’re grown adults that must make their way in this world. I don’t think what the mom is asking is a lot. But you can see how immature and not capable of logic and simple reasoning the daughter thinks. So the mom must decide does she want someone she gave birth to that isn’t the brightest bulb in the box out here in the streets without guidance or at home where can continue to learn adulthood.

Only an idiot would hire someone they know is going to leave at a drop of a dime (and more than likely the same day without a 2 week notice). I know too many who got nice paying jobs through others. Sometimes (not always) it really isn’t about race. Like most have said here, networking is the key. Seen a lot of under qualified people get in because they know someone. But you also have to look at it this way. Most places don’t hire the over qualified because most of the time, those folks immediately come in a try to take other people’s jobs or eventually get a bad attitude because they’re not at what they think they should be at. Same applies to those folks who’s had 3 different jobs with 3 different companies in 4 years. No one likes job hoppers no matter how qualified you are. Believe it or not, putting too much on a resume hurts more than helps.

I mean we been said this. THEY ARE HIRING THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. They can be under qualified, while you are qualified and they will still hire their friends/family. Why be surprised? 😂
