Below is the resolution that will be discussed at the Convention. We have a real shot to throw Adam Smith out and send the FIRST-EVER revolutionary socialist to the U.S. Congress. I genuinely think that it is in the interests of the working class for DSA members and all socialists to be a part of this effort. Trying to build working-class power within the genocidal capitalist Democratic Party is a dead end. We have seen too many failures and betrayals from DSA elected officials like AOC and Mamdani taking this approach. We have an opportunity to chart a different course, one based on the proven fighting track record of my socialist Seattle City Council office. We won unparalleled victories, like the nation's highest minimum wage and the Amazon Tax, by using my office to build fighting independent movements of working people to defeat the rich and the Democratic Party that serves them. I will do the same if I am elected to Congress. I will use my platform to build nationwide movements to end all military aid to Israel and shut down ICE, and fight for national rent control and free healthcare for all funded by taxing the rich. In Seattle, DSA leadership is blocking a vote on endorsing @cmkshama's independent socialist campaign for Congress. Kshama is a member of DSA. She won four elections to the Seattle City Council as an independent socialist. She has a track record of standing up to both corporate parties and building movements for major victories like the first major-city $15 minimum wage & the Amazon Tax for affordable housing. A victory for Kshama's campaign would be a massive step towards building a new working-class party. We urgently need to get organized as rank-and-file DSA members to reverse the decision by DSA leadership and demand a full debate and vote on endorsing Kshama’s campaign.
