@sarkozy64 @porchenjoyer what “clear historical conditions?” America and Israel were founded extremely similarly. America is just older and more successful. Early America looked a lot like modern Israel with different weapons.

America can be characterized by its worst crimes. But it can be characterized in many ways. It also involves anti-colonial resistance, no? Which characterization is necessary for the construction of socialism as a national project? AOC’s approach is more viable towards that end.

@porchenjoyer Rather than accept that there are two separate legacies in conflict, it is our task to redefine the bourgeois legacy in terms of the subaltern one. The legacy of Indigenous resistance has to universalize by absorbing and overtaking the Master’s legacy of colonization.

My hope for Geese is that we reintroduce ‘communism’ as a serious signifier in mass society. We need to overcome the ‘post-post Cold War consensus’ that deems communism anachronistic.
