It's Invisible Disability Week! It's not because others can't see your disability or chronic illness that it isn't real or impacting your life the same way a visible disability would.

Seeing disabled characters in video games is so important because it shows non-disabled people that it is normal to have disabled people in our entourage. We should never erase ourselves.

No reason why disabled people shouldn't work from home. At Spokz People, we all work from home.

@Autistic_Lauren I've always thought of the meaning literally 😂 like watch Netflix and just chill, by eating snacks or something. Until my friend told me what it actually means and I was like "WHAT, THEN WHY...?? HOW??" I had so many questions

@humanbeingawk If disabled people are alive and in this society, then we deserve an inclusive environment where we too can flourish.

@SpokzPeople @DRDisabilityReb Disabled people get very little because they don't have the capacity to hunt down everything they're actually eligible for. The fakers get an obscene amount because they have the capacity to do so. My father was a faker. You wouldn't believe what he got away with.

@basilthegreat LOL I've got mild autism and done 210 hours unpaid for a Mind charity shop in the last 166 days and doing another 4hrs today, that does include 1/8th breaks but I've also had zero offer of a paid position and around 9% of the money actually goes to charity, CEO on £140k/year

🚨WAITROSE AXES VOLUNTEER WITH SEVERE AUTISM This is an awful story Tom Boyd has severe autism but he enjoys stacking shelves so he offered to do it for free at his local Waitrose. They let him work for SIX HUNDRED HOURS UNPAID over FOUR YEARS His family asked could he be paid going forward because he's doing such a great job and WAITROSE TOLD HIM TO LEAVE @waitrose have a heart for christ sake! The lad is clearly doing a decent job or you wouldn't have had him be your slave for the past 4 years GIVE TOM A JOB!!!

Fix the system please! Us disabled people deserve better than to be blamed for needing support. We did not choose our bodies. Society expects us to fit in even though it would benefit us all for it to change.

It can be super difficult to find the right therapist as a disabled or chronically ill person. Most therapists are not trained about accessibility, challenges specific to our community and inclusive language.

"I've been sectioned four times…but I've never had therapy" Grime musician, Shocka, on pouring his heart out in a music studio rather than in a counsellor's office, to help manage his mental health He just hopes the studio engineer wasn't listening...

Support is never granted to us. We disabled and chronically ill people often have to fight for it at all times, and if we have no support network, then Lord have mercy on us. The fatigue is REAL.
Kelly@broadwaybabyto

People think that when you become disabled, support magically appears That once it’s official you will have your basic needs met People fight for years to get the bare minimum in benefits Caregivers are impossible to find If you’re not rich or very lucky… you’re on your own
