Watched the video and funnily enough a top local SF player in my country has been saying the same thing about local players in another community putting people on a pedestal and being content with losing instead of actively trying to beat them.

Competitive Fighting games has too many players that just exist as bracket cheerleaders. You might as well not enter and just pay spectator fee.
