This is the Blizzard. This is Dairy Queen. If it falls, they told me, you get it free. I understood at once. This was not dessert. This was an ordeal. The boy was not showing off. He was swearing an oath, with his own arm, that he had made the thing thick enough to hang against the earth, and he was betting the price of it on his honor. The flip is not a trick. It is a vow. In my land a smith proved his blade by cutting. Here a boy of seventeen proves his by turning it over a stranger's head and looking him in the eye while the whole line waits to see if he lied. He did not lie. He set it upright, handed it to me, and said "there you go, man," then turned to the next customer as if he had not just gambled his good name across a counter. I tipped him everything in my pocket. He tried to give it back. He said it was just a Blizzard. I told him it was not just a Blizzard. I could not explain the rest in English, and there was a line, and he was busy. So I bowed instead. He said, "You too, man." That answered nothing I had said. It answered everything I had felt.

When a boy reaches the age of maybe around ten, he quickly begins to realize that most of the people around him have no sympathy for him, and any love he gets from anyone other than his mother will be conditional, and that's if he's lucky. Around puberty, he begins to understand that others will always assume the worst about him, and he has to go out of his way to not draw negative attention to himself. When he reaches adulthood, he becomes aware that he's on his own, and he will be blamed for anything bad that happens to him, even when he's plainly the victim of some injustice. If his relationships fail, it's his fault. If he becomes homeless, it's his fault. If he is abused, it's his fault. A man learns that he is, at best, disposable, and at worst, a monster. The mere act of wanting to be loved without "earning" it by being attractive and successful makes him evil. And all the while, he will constantly be told that he's privileged and accused of feeling entitled. Can you blame a guy for wanting reassurance that the woman who claims to love him doesn't secretly find him repulsive?

That they’re the bad ones and this somehow negatively impacts women A significant portion of the population has been raised to be unbelievably narcissistic, entitled, and profoundly misandrist—people who don’t seem to grasp basic concepts like empathy, care, accountability, or respect… yet curiously are always the ones spouting them. So many are obsessed with looking good—with vanity—while being fucking horrible in reality. They built and are actively building a culture that hurts young boys, girls, men, and women alike, all in service of selfish greed for money and attention They can’t even look at boys and men suffering (roughly 80% of suicides) and think, “Okay… maybe what we’re doing is hurting people. Maybe we need to self-reflect a little—” "…PFFT. Nah. It’s all their fault. Toxic masculinity, you know? I’m perfect. I had no part in that." Meanwhile, taking advantage of young impressionable boys and vulnerable men—often sexually—in the middle of a male mental health crisis is not just ignored. It’s frequently celebrated and encouraged. Men’s suffering has been turned into a business model and monetized. Their pain is seen, then they’re tempted with the idea of love and care—just enough to keep them working, paying, and performing Without that usefulness, that utility, the money, they’re treated as nothing. Worthless. Like they don’t even exist. People wonder why I’m so passionate about this. I’ve lost friends over it. A lot of people hate me for it. But they don’t hate me because I’m evil or mean or bad. They hate me because I care about these boys (and the girls being misguided too). I care about people—and they don’t They try to make it look like YOU are the one who doesn't care. That you're the evil one Boys shouldn’t feel like they need to find affection and care from a fucking AI chatbot. They shouldn’t be living in a culture that makes them feel this alone It is so, so wrong… and it’s the fault of so many people who can’t look in the mirror for one second and see the damage they’re doing out of pure misandry, or egomania, or greed—not just at others’ expense either, but at the expense of their own children, brothers, and sisters. They’re too blinded by pride, ego, money, and fame to see it. Their self-serving greed is all-consuming while they play the part of the opposite. A Facade I suppose the real problem with caring about men and boys is that it risks the markets built on their suffering. The reason people hate you for talking about this isn’t because you’re a bad person… it’s because these boys are clients... And they can’t be easily funneled into a client base if people actually start caring about them
