Emile Franicis was my in-studio partner one year for the Rangers' MSG playoff games. What a character! ALWAYS a twinkle in his eyes, he, Gord & others in Saskatchewan were NUTS about baseball coming up, told me he'd rather have been an MLB player than the NHL goalie he was.

Harry Ornest purchased the St. Louis Blues in 1983 for approximately $12 million, consisting of $3 million in cash and $9 million in unsecured notes. As part of the acquisition, he also paid $5 million for the team's arena, the St. Louis Arena. Harry Ornest eventually owned the St. Louis Blues NHL team. Emil Francis played in the NHL 1946-1952. After playing minor league hockey until 1960, Francis became Rangers AGM in 1962, later GM of the New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues and Hartford Whalers to 1989. Pre-game ground rules outlined by Chief Umpire Harry Ornest. Looking on are Emile Francis of North Battleford, umpire Johnny Lupul, Stud Samis, Al Brightman of Morinville. @NCC_1755 @PaulMayne6 Ebbets was before my time, but I agree that there were a ton of Yankee Stadium setting cards. I can’t think of another NL ballpark that was as often used for card photography than Shea. There was always plenty of (way too much of!) NY photos in my card collection!

@SportsDIYguy @PaulMayne6 if I remember correctly, when topps was still based in NYC, most of the in game photography took place at yankee stadium, shea stadium and before that ebbets field.
I don't remember county stadium being a backdrop!
Love the ones that use tiger stadium.
