It’s been a really positive few weeks for Joe Hodge!🇮🇪
Hodge has now started six games in a row - his longest run at the club and looks to be building real consistency after some difficult injury setbacks in recent seasons. He picked up an assist in their 2-2 draw with Santa Clara at the weekend, another sign of his growing influence.
Tondela sit 17th, but it’s tight at the bottom and performances are improving. For Hodge, this season feels like a platform, a chance to re-establish himself at a strong level and push back into the Ireland conversation if he keeps this momentum going.

Thought I’d have a go at predicting the March playoff squad. This isn’t the 26 I’d personally pick, it’s what I think he’ll go with based on recent squads and the fact he’s said now isn’t the time to experiment.
I’ve gone with 26, even though it may be 25 with suspensions, as if we qualify it’ll be a 26-man squad anyway.
A few lads in good form miss out, and I’ve presumed Mikey Johnston won’t make it through injury - if he’s fit, he’s in. I’m also presuming Bosun Lawal will be fit in time, which I understand he should be and gets a couple of games in for Stoke before the window.

Sources in Whitehall say it is “very likely” that HMS Duncan will shortly be deployed to the Eastern Mediterranean to provide protection for the RAF base in Cyprus. Yet to be confirmed on the record.
It’s a Type 45 destroyer, of which the Royal Navy has six. Three of which are in deep maintenance and couldn’t be deployed. Two would take some days to get ready. Only HMS Duncan is ready to go.
Even so it will take at least a week to get there, which suggests a lack of forward planning at the MoD. Again
The destroyer is armed with anti-missile weapons. The UK currently has no ability to defend Cyprus against ballistic missile attacks.

Wondering what football would look like under Wenger's "daylight" offside law? Raheem Sterling would be onside in this example, the heel playing him onside. NB: You still need the offside lines, and you still have marginal decisions.
