All real fans want to see this tradition upheld. It's only the basement dwelling virgins that will use it as banter material. In a sport that is sorely lacking in true sportsmanship, the guard of honour is the only true touch of class that still exists. Liverpool fully deserves it, and I hope it will act as motivation for our players to up their game next season.

Maybe because I had the foresight to buy 4 tickets at the start of March when I had a feeling it might be a momentous day for the club I’ve supported for 55 years. As for Arteta, he proved me and a lot of people wrong, and I couldn’t be happier about it.

It’s time to start giving these self important nobodies dogs abuse and putting them in their place. This unfounded personal hatred directed at @Madders10 , particularly by the 4ft 11 @Chelsearory borders on ridiculous. It says far more about these people than it does about Maddison himself. You couldn’t give me one legitimate reason to dislike Maddison. He’s a father of 5. A family man. Someone who loves football. Who breaks the mould of the monotone robotic footballer in interviews. Who gives real insight and genuinely cares. The only reason you could hate him is because you’re insecure and intimidated by his charisma because you have none. I agree, to a certain extent. My annoyance is more the fact that this was a private event. There's a certain level of trust that goes with an invite, and those present are hugely privileged to be there, that trust has been broken. I love the confidence, but I'm certain nobody would have wanted this being shared publicly.

Within the club they feel like Arteta has done nothing wrong, but there is a belief that the footage will inevitably reach the PSG squad, giving them extra motivation ahead of the match.
