As someone who worked as a gaming journalist for 25+ years, I've been extremely appalled by the way many of my colleagues have covered Star Citizen. Instead of celebrating the achievements of a legendary developer and the fact that gamers themselves are directly keeping a thousand developers employed with their funding (in a period in which so many are getting laid off), they have tried everything in their power to peddle controversy. I can guarantee many of them know nothing about the game besides what they read on social media. They haven't even tried a free fly event. I have a feeling that the gaming press will have to eat a large portion of crow about this, but I doubt that many will have the intellectual honesty required to admit that they have been wrong all along. 🤔
