If this is about Marathon that doesn’t work. Marathon had a free public beta which was what the game was meant to be at release, given the fact the public beta & main release were less than a week apart. So people did try Marathon, I tried Marathon. And I like many found it to be boring & not worth the investment. So even when people do try things & are vocal that they don’t like it, people in the industry will act as if it’s still not worthy cause it is toxic positivity like they’re used to. Even when it came to AC SHADOWS or VEILGUARD, I played both, hell I platinum’d them ( cause I’m insane ) & I vocally showed in videos what I didn’t like or did like about them. Does that make my opinion on those games invalid cause I wasn’t positive about them? This is just what it is always. Consume product & shit up mentality. Sad to see anyone defending that mentality. It’s pointless. If you want games to get better, support what you like & don’t give money to what you don’t want to see. That’s why Highguard doesn’t exist anymore nor Concord. People can cry all they want about Marathon, Bungie has a lot of work ahead of them if they wanna turn it into a Destiny. Good luck to them, they’ll need it

You can no longer say this when you can watch full gameplay of video games without spending a dime. You don't need to play a game directly anymore to know whether you like it or not. You can't compare to a movie because you can't watch it on twitch for free. two different things

@TheChrisRayGun If you have to play a game to know whether you will like it or not, you haven't played enough games. Within 5 minutes of gameplay, I can tell you whether a game is good for me or not and 9 times out of 10 I will be dead on, the rest will be close enough and edge cases.

Idk how I feel about this. I like the scarcity and weighing against what to keep and get rid of. Haven’t tried it myself yet so maybe it’s fine, but I get the sense they’re overcorrecting a bit on some things.

I love Destiny, but they Endgame’d themselves. The Final Shape was a great finale and I don’t really need any more from it.
I’ll be on board for a Destiny 3 if it ever happens, but D2’s done all it had to do imo. I can only play the same game for so long.

@TheChrisRayGun Have played since moon beta d1 the base game lacked super hard. It really needed time to be a good game. I think Marathon is going to need that same time. The unfortunate part for marathon is that it was hit with so much negative controversy that it came out the gates with hate.

I fell in love with Destiny quickly. The music, the art, the lore, the vibe, the gameplay/game feel. It wasn’t exactly what I wanted out of Bungie after Halo, but I appreciated how different it was.
It’s not too dissimilar to how I feel about Marathon today, tbh.
