I was surprised by these numbers. I'm not nearly as active on steam as I thought for having it so long. 1300 hours of my total playtime is gamemaker, so less than 4000 hrs in 15 years.

@onlyhereforpkmn The literal root of Star Fox is pretty much an arcadey score chasing game. They tried walking around in assault and it sucked. They tried big open battles and they're the worst part of zero

"Do people really want an on-rails Star Fox game? I would much rather a more open exploration type of game." Because forsaking what makes your series work for unnecessary open world elements worked so well for Prime 4

I hope this isn’t true Do people really want an on-rails Star Fox game? I would much rather a more open exploration type of game. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see No 3D Mario again this year would be a bummer And relying on a remake to be the holiday game?

@LonelyGoomba At least in my experience, other sites are far far worse. Twitter's not amazing , but People are so effing miserable elsewhere. Just wallowing in their own anger and hatred all day.

To this day, they still can’t cope with the Sweet Baby Inc. detected curator page. "Aside from the content of Steam’s forums, sources pointed to two main causes for concern: bigoted reviews posted on games’ Steam pages, which can hugely affect sales for their developers; and Steam curators (self-appointed taste-makers on the platform) directing campaigns against games they perceive to lean left or pursue inclusion."

We’re saying goodbye to the Sora app. To everyone who created with Sora, shared it, and built community around it: thank you. What you made with Sora mattered, and we know this news is disappointing. We’ll share more soon, including timelines for the app and API and details on preserving your work. – The Sora Team

@FantasyAnime @St1ka In my opinion it's pretty darn long and bland, and definitely loses a lot of charm for not having towns/ walking around breaks in between battles. And you're going to hear about three songs through 30 of the hours. One and two were far superior

Ever played Shining Force CD on the Sega CD/Mega CD? Or even heard of it? A unique chapter in the series that brought together classic Game Gear scenarios with enhanced 16-bit visuals, CD-quality music, and that great tactical gameplay.

@JustySilverman @RadarFennec I call them indie parasites. Take something a fellow indie Dev poured years of their time into and leech off of it. Happened with FNAF, undertale, anything popular

Cuphead was a game made by the Moldenhauer brothers as a love letter to the Fleischer style of animation. With animation being restricted to 24 FPS and including imperfections in it and the sound design. These games just wear it as a skin and call it a day.
Indie Game Joe@IndieGameJoe

These indie devs are making a 1930s-inspired open-world survival game. - Farm crops, manage sanity & temperature - Every animation is hand-drawn - Survive, craft, and command creatures It's called Kalit. Would you play this?

@St1ka Cool but is the game fun? That's all I care about. I notice a lot of time and effort being put into kitschy little details these days, when there's other glaring issues I'd rather have a dressed. I actually know nothing about this game it's just an overall observation

It's also easy to forget if you haven't played their games recently, but Lucasarts was the top of the heap, everything they put out was good. While Sierra put out a dozen titles a year, plus remakes, and maybe one of those would be good. It was mostly Police Quest.
St1ka@St1ka

It's easy to forget now, but Sierra was the bigger adventure game company back in the day. its sales dwarfed Lucasarts' adventure games and the media gushed over Sierra. The LucasArts reverence was post mortum

I've noticed the Retrogaming YouTube space feels so disjointed now. So many people left on Twitter and never returned. Some are on Bluesky, others just left most social media. Discord may be suffering an exodus in the coming months too.
