I’ll never understand people that don’t include the shipping price while comping cards. Cards are only worth what someone is willing to pay. So if the seller is charging shipping and the card sells, that shipping price is included in the comp.

$50,000 Michael Jordan Superfractor 1/1 has been stolen from @eBay while @UPS was delivering it internationally. The contents were empty with their pack and ship guarantee (they packed the item). Fully insured. Claim has been filed for 4 months and nothing has been done.

Deactivation of a PSA cert is incredibly difficult - even in these circumstances. There are many known counterfeit cards that not only did PSA authenticate but they also refuse to deactivate despite being shown concrete evidence that it is fake. And the ones that are deactivated require a lot of effort, convincing and connections to the right people. The card can and will be sold separate from an auction company. Nothing forces anybody to use an auction service. Not every single collector, vendor, investor, etc stays fully updated every single day on what cards have been stolen recently. In fact a majority do not know at all. Theres a silly amount of people who have the money and interest in buying something like this without knowing this context in regards to the card. To think that it cant or wont easily be sold is extremely naive. This card is very much long gone. Tough learning experience.

@PrattMattx @eBay @UPS Exactly. Will deactivate the cert number so no auction house will sell it. I’m sure the person who stole it didn’t think it thoroughly through. Can’t hide a 1/1 someone will show it off one day.

The rules AND referee decisions are what enables this. The rules have been unchanged in regards to this for a long time. Obviously nobody that has influence on the referees has sent the message to them to stop calling the horrible fouls. This isnt just a bad night of refereeing or a mistake. This tells us that the NBA is completely fine with this from Adam Silver down. I'll let others speculate on why. I certainly have my suspicions. The only way this stops is if the fans force it to stop by not watching and not buying tickets. That is extremely unlikely to happen anytime soon given the current trend. Those that hate what they see have a decision to make because the solution to that problem is not walking through the door anytime soon.

My no bullshit advice to you is twofold: Spend a lot of time researching how to properly assess a cards grade yourself. Learn corners, edges and surface especially. Bordered cards are pretty easy to eye. Some cards are much more prone to having certain defects and that's product by product, year by year. Learn what very minor defects are commonly looked over by each company. They all have their own grading tendencies. Learn how much each type of defect will hit your cards grade. The card does not have to be literally perfect to 10 - its even in the grading wording. Buy a 10x magnification jewelers loupe with triplets lense and ITS OWN LED LIGHT. No more than 10x. Thats what graders use IF they use one. Hint: graders typically dont spend more than 20 seconds to grade a card. Attached is a photo of the one I use. If ypu dont learn how to pre-grade by yourself and you just blind send cards in then prepare to throw money away. PSA will upcharge to the highest degree by using the highest dollar sale they can possibly find. They will use some weird, phony comp to compensate you for a card that they damage though.

Hype drives price in cards more than a players accomplishments. If a player's hype is dead, there is a very small chance his stuff skyrockets anymore. The big names are what people want and will spend money on. Wemby's stuff has just gone bonkers since the beginning of the season. Do I think his stuff can still go up? Yes, but tread carefully. Dont expect the exponential growth that his base/silver stuff has done.

So ive had some retail packs of Topps Flagship basketball stashed for WhatNot giveaways but I decided to not to sell cards on WN cuz of the slimeyness and my life schedule. Thought about those packs tonight and let my brother rip a few. $3.49 cent packs. On the third pack. BANG 😆🫡 Green Holofoil /99 Kon 8-bit. Not a monster but that will do as a Hornets fan. Extra goodies too.

And Topps has made it abundantly clear that the future is game-attached. I think its a great thing because random, plain, white $5 napkin relic cards are extremely uninspiring. I would much rather have an SP or cool even insert/parallel. That $5 relic is probably the ball boys warm-up tearaways, anyways, literally.

It would be impossible to prove that the defendant over paid when the manufacturer refuses to sell the product to them. From what I see from reading all of this is that the courts stance is that the plaintiff must provide proof of a *theoretical* purchase that is wholly impossible due to the decisions by the defendant to deny direct access. I dont see where the cost plays a factor at all. Unless the plaintiff simply couldn't be bothered to show secondary market receipts? Or the courts stance is that as long as you can get it somewhere then nothing is wrong? In this case Fanatics is void of all punity by simply refusing direct access to plaintiff and selling the product at a consistent price to entities that play kissy-face. The cost of the product plays zero factor here? An endless loop of bias American business law, essentially? Am I missing something or are there details I simply dont have access to?

There's a BIG decision in one of the Fanatics antirust cases. In the direct buyer case (Scaturo et al. v. Fanatics), the court has ruled on Fanatics' motion to dismiss...and has dismissed the case "in its entirety." A BIG win for Fanatics.

Although I do adhere to many of your principals I am a ding defender+card saver guy. Toploader /bubble film just isnt enough protection for my peace of mind. No top loaders. 2-4 cards per card saver and 2x ding defender(maybe 1 extra in the middle for stacks) does it for me. Complete peace of mind.
