OTD in 1974: a Wenela Air Services DC-4 [A2-ZER] crashes in Gabarone (Botswana), 78 of 84 aboard die. Shortly after take-off, all 4 engines lost power, plane went down 2.3 mi from runway. Inquiry found fuel was contaminated due to an error by ground personnel during refueling.More info below ⬇️

@OnDisasters You're welcome. Type 96 Land-based Attack Aircraft is the proper name of G3M, but that native name can be unfamiliar to Westerners for being too long to spell in English. Conversely, Asians who have heard of 'Type 96' may not know its short designation 'G3M'.
