@JamesCopley_ Good move. Playing in a team that will dominate possession and territory in a league that’s (at best) about Championship level.

🚨 Understand Rangers are leading the race to sign ex-Sunderland captain Dan Neil. Neil, 24, was at the Stadium of Light last Sunday, with his contract up in June. A potential leadership role has been discussed, and Danny Rohl is a big admirer of the midfielder. #SAFC

@LucyHunterB The ones to point fingers at are the willing stooges going along with leadership shutting down any attempt to investigate. They must have had their own concerns if they’ve any shred of intellectual curiosity. They got their rewards - keeping jobs/promotion. Time to clear house?

I went on to spend hours with other people counting and cross-checking the cash received after the end of events, to make sure it was all double-checked. The attitude at the top of the SNP to people raising concerns on a much bigger scale jars at the most basic level.

I suspect lots of us are bringing this sort of experience to our response to all this. The gap between how seriously many people have taken the accounts of much smaller things with of much more limited interest and the way the SNP leadership behaved is doing our heads in./

@LucyHunterB When I did accounts for a primary school those responsbile for signing them off took three days to make sure that not a single penny was misplaced. What happened here?

SNP hierarchy went to great lengths to cover up one of their own stealing from the party. Got to wonder just how much is being misappropriated from public funds - in their minds a ‘victimless’ crime.

@_HelenDale Thirty years ago he’ll still have been a short, bald bespectacled man in an ill fitting suit. I’ll concede location would make it improbable to be him…

Only catching up on the Peter Murrell story now; clearly a bloke who struggled to cast a straight shadow. The Lalique salt & pepper grinders are the cherry on top—I spent five years in my teens/early 20s working in the china & glass section of a pretty decent department store. I sold two Lalique perfume bottles in all that time.

@DalgetySusan Would be funny if he’d hidden all the receipts inside the books, knowing they’d be unlikely ever to be discovered.

Good spot Scott! Will Sturgeon keep her date with O’Hagan on Thursday in Co. Kerry? Will he ask her about her former/estranged* husband’s obsession with expensive pens and coffee machines and what she, as SNP boss, knew of the party’s finances. Will she respond frankly? *current status unclear

@DalgetySusan @ochkenny The coldness of her statements only confirms her heart wasn’t among the myriad of stuff he purloined over the years.

Did Sturgeon use two different lawyers today? Did she bring in Anwar because she panicked? Or preferred the font he uses for press statements?

So… the SNP top brass cannot read financial statements, cannot evaluate evidence, and cannot tell the truth. The party must be mightily relieved that none of these frailties have infected its thinking on Scottish independence.

It is about us. It’s about the kind of people you would have had Lord it over us after separation. It’s about the control of power, the corruption of power and shitting on the ordinary people outwith your elite. It’s a warning to us about the nature of nationalism. You sit down.

@BrianSpanner1 Dunno. In certain spheres the ability to shamefacedly distance oneself from corruption is seen as a core skill.

This is not about us. A fucking dysfunctional couple running the country who are the sole focus of a police investigation that cost the taxpayer £2.7 million. Go take a fuck to yourself you ridiculous simpleton.
