Something to think about : what does life look like 25 years from now if AI continues to improve. I don’t think any AI community ( broad tech industry , academia , various timelines predictions) have done a great job articulating a positive long term future for humanity and what it means for the institutions and traditions that a lot of the world holds dear.

@sriramk @aarthir Soma was a dear friend and an incredible human being. Truly devastated, hearing this news. Wonderful memories at Microsoft and then at Madrona, and deep appreciation of his humble approach on everything.

S “Soma” Somasegar It’s hard to articulate how much of an impact Soma had on @aarthir and me. He spotted us out of under grad, made sure we got our first jobs, spent time with us though he was a senior executive at Microsoft and we were random junior people and showered us with kindness. Over the years he became a mentor who would tell us how proud he was of where we had gotten. We genuinely wouldn’t have the lives and careers we have now without him. I’m still in shock and so deeply heartbroken. It’s a truly sad day. geekwire.com/2026/s-soma-so…

@sriramk @aarthir Most millennial devs in India who started their career with .NET/Visual Studio and the Microsoft stack have definitely read blog posts written by him and aspired to be like him and follow his career path to work at big tech (at least I did). Truly a great loss🕊️

@sriramk @aarthir He was such a good, gentle man. He was so supportive of me early in my career, and always a cheerleader as my career progressed. Very heartbreaking.

@sriramk @aarthir He was such a well-known figure in the Seattle tech and cricket community. This is shocking!

Wemby is finally doing the things we all knew he could do. What a game. What a performance. ( think would have been last year if it wasn’t for the medical issues )

Some of these GPs at multistage funds who only invest in 1-3 companies a year. And can’t even respond to emails or close the loop with anyone. Jeez - Sitting on a few boards and investing in a handful of companies a year isn’t a lot of work. You also have EAs, analysts etc. Come on, give me a break. What do you even do with your time.

too many SF AI discussions reduce to whether you a) believe we are in the singularity b) what part of the takeoff curve do you think we are on.

I also talked about the evolving role of code review. In the world we're in today, human judgment and attention is more valuable than ever. Which means we should think a lot about how to help humans understand, and that's what code review is all about! youtu.be/rUYP4C29yCw?si…

A new @bgurley blog post! I have been thinking about how sophisticated executives are using open source in super creative ways. Started writing this three years ago. Excited to finish it up and publish it! And with the new @p3institute brand. substack.com/home/post/p-19…

Really bullish on the role on American open source AI in the ecosystem. Especially struck by the amount of experimentation and creativity going into them now.

@lulumeservey I find it really hard to read those. You can definitely “feel” the lack of human involvement.

The most prolific writers of X articles are Claude and ChatGPT That viral longform post you recently saw is most likely ghostwritten by an LLM People aren’t even putting in the effort to edit the drafts to sound more human We should raise our standards as readers
Tanay Jaipuria@tanayj

I've been running the articles that go viral on X through an AI detector and about 80% of them are completely AI generated. I don't think people has grasped just how much AI slop they are getting exposed to on a daily basis.

Saturday and Sunday mornings I get to pick what classic TV or movie the kids watch before they get their regular dose of Bluey. This morning: 36 chambers of Shaolin!
