There’s a conversation happening on TikTok where the girls are finally talking about how a lot of men aren’t actually attractive. Like you go to the grocery store and see a ton of stunning women, but men? You will remember how many months back you last saw a hot man.

Weird experience: Walking down the sidewalk, an African immigrant lady comes up behind me and takes my arm like I’m escorting her. I can’t catch what she’s saying but there’s a person with a large dog coming down the sidewalk in the other direction and she acts like she’s afraid of it. As soon as we pass the dog, she smiles and says thank you and goes on her way. It really seemed like she just wanted someone to walk her past the dog. Not complaining, I was happy to help with whatever it was. Just odd.


Baby is proxy for other things. Having a baby means being an adult. Being an adult means being invisible and doing thankless daily tasks and duties you can’t expect to get credit for. Modern people, especially modern women, cannot bear the thought of being invisible. Hence the constant public disclosures of private things and feelings that you should keep to yourself in the name of “raising awareness” and “breaking stigmas.”






@BDSixsmith Pretty much all murders that make the True Crime shows in America are motivated by life insurance. This wife's plan to garner $2 million is about the most ambitious I've seen. All Americans should be forced to watch "Double Indemnity" so they fear insurance adjustors' acumen.

One very tiresome genre of response to this is to say with s sort of faux high-mindedness "Oh well I'm so sorry you have to spend another tenner to fill up your car when 30,000 people have been massacred!" That is not the trade-off under discussion here.
