24-year-old woman died in A&E corridor after nurses left her with unconnected oxygen mask thinking she was overreacting Clarissa Street, 24, a University of Manchester graduate from Rochdale, collapsed at home after feeling unwell for two days. She was rushed to Royal Oldham Hospital on 13 August 2024 but placed in a corridor. Staff gave her an unconnected oxygen mask and believed she was having a panic attack. Despite low oxygen levels and raised heart rate, she was left for over an hour. Clarissa died early the next morning from a pulmonary embolism. An inquest into her death is currently underway at Rochdale Coroner's Court.
