Big Tech has learned from the Big Tobacco playbook. It’s extremely addictive, bad for our health, and causing real harm to our children. It’s time for action. theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/m…

@skibidipoopee @Juve38Wa98021 @PolitlcsUK I'm really confused as to what your point is here. Multiple stations (including more vegetated areas like Kew Gardens) are recording similar temperatures. Even if it is a flawed methodology by which to record exact temperatures, they are still recording record highs every year.

@skibidipoopee @Juve38Wa98021 @PolitlcsUK I'm not sure you're 100% right - you seem to be implying that these record highs aren't actually real, and that the Met Office are just tricking us by publishing the measurements at airports only

I created a parliamentary petition to stop the Holocaust™️ Memorial and Learning Centre being built in the beautiful British Victoria Tower Gardens—located within a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was rejected. The reason being that: 'it requests action at a local level.' The current status of the memorial: In January, the 'UK Holocaust Memorial Act 2026' became law and: - Disapplied section 8 of the London County Council (Improvements) Act 1900 which legally required the park to be kept strictly as a public garden. - Formally granted the government the power to use public funds to construct and operate the memorial and underground learning centre (estimated around £147m–£150m). Important information: The applicant for the project is the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government: Steve Reed. - Steve Reed: • Member of Labour Friends of 'israel' (LFI) • 2 funded trips to 'israel' • £155,200 from pro-'israel' billionaire Lisbet Rausing • £1,800 from pro-'israel' jewish billionaire Trevor Chinn Reed works closely with the UK Holocaust Memorial Foundation (UKHMF) as the expert advisory board appointed by the government to steer the project. The UKHMF is formed from 'The Prime Minister's Holocaust Commission'—launched in January 2014 by then-Prime Minister David Cameron. The UKHMF is led by two Co-Chairs: The Rt Hon Lord Eric Pickles and The Rt Hon Ed Balls. - Eric Pickles: • Current Chairman of the Conservative Friends of 'israel' in the House of Lords. - Ed Balls: • Was an active, long-standing member of LFI throughout his time as a Member of Parliament and Shadow Chancellor. Other members of the board include the following zionist jews: - Chief Rabbi (Genocide) Ephraim Mirvis Incorporates religious zionism into his official leadership role. - Sir Gerald Ronson CBE Major donor to prominent zionist charities. - The Rt Hon the Lord Feldman of Elstree Closely aligned with Conservative Friends of 'israel' (CFI). - Sir Lloyd Dorfman CBE Funds major institutional and cultural projects in 'israel'. - Lord David Alliance Maintains extensive business and philanthropic ties with 'israeli' institutions. Since the 'government' is the applicant, the next step is for a designated Minister to make the 'independent planning decision'. That minister is: Samantha Dixon MBE MP, the Minister for Building Safety, Fire and Democracy. Dixon can make one of the following decisions: 1. Approval with Conditions: Granting permission but imposing strict requirements (e.g., specific building materials). 2. Refusal: Denying the planning permission entirely, forcing the government to find an alternative site or fundamentally alter the project. 3. Call for a New Public Inquiry: If new evidence or massive public interest demands it, ordering a fresh, formal public inquiry before making a final determination. What we can do next: 1. I am resubmitting a national petition The first was rejected as a 'local' issue. The new petition will demand national action: calling on the Government to halt public funding for the project and order a fresh, independent Public Inquiry. I will post the link as soon as it is live. 2. Object directly to the decision-maker Minister Samantha Dixon is legally required to review public objections before making her planning decision. Anyone can submit an objection: • Where to write: Email the Planning Casework Unit at MHCLG (pcu@communities.gov.uk). • What to say: Focus on valid 'material planning considerations' so it cannot be ignored. Cite the loss of Grade II-listed public green space, visual disruption to the UNESCO Westminster World Heritage Site, and crowd security risks next to Parliament. 3. Demand a Public Paper Petition from your MP If you collect physical signatures on a paper petition and hand it to your local MP, they can present it on the floor of the House of Commons. This legally forces the government to issue a formal, written ministerial response to our concerns. Victoria Gardens is one of Europe's 'Most Endangered' heritage sites Spread the word. Protect the gardens.

They're planning to build another UK Holocaust™️ Museum in Victoria Tower Gardens. In a World Heritage site. Using £147 million of public funding. The High Court initially quashed planning permission. They introduced a bill to bypass legal obstacles. They changed the law to force it through. Proposal: memorial and 'underground learning center' next to the Houses of Parliament. It's driven by jewish billionaires Michael Lawrence Davis, Gerald Ronson & 'Lord' Feldman. There's already a Holocaust™️ gallery half a mile away and a memorial in Hyde Park. Europa Nostra (pan-European Federation for Cultural Heritage) has subsequently named Victoria Tower Gardens as one of Europe's most endangered heritage sites. Save Victoria Tower Gardens.

@skibidipoopee @Juve38Wa98021 @PolitlcsUK I don't know, they're certainly not *always* recorded at runways, but the Met Office has had a station there for a long time. Maybe it's something to do with unobstructed, open space? I know the station at Kew Gardens often records comparable highs during the same events

I say we, the wider membership, pen an open letter urging the party not to stand aside. Who would sign? We must make opposition to neoliberalism a core value of Green Party if we are to have any chance at wider success long term
Daisy Eastlake@daisyeastlake

🟢 EXCL: Senior Green Party figures have urged Zack Polanski to consider stepping aside for Andy Burnham in the Makerfield by-election if the Greater Manchester mayor commits to introducing proportional representation Green councillors, activists and former party leaders have signed a joint statement warning that the party should approach the contest with “trepidation” The letter, whose signatories include Jonathan Bartley, who led the party between 2016 and 2018, and Rupert Read, a former Green councillor and author, says that Burnham’s election presents a “unique opportunity” to secure reform “In all reality this is not a seat Greens can win. It will be a straight fight between Labour and Reform. But it’s no ordinary by-election. Labour’s candidate, Andy Burnham, is looking to return to Westminster to lead in parliament.” “If Burnham will commit to backing proportional representation for the next general Labour election manifesto so that it is in place by the election after next, then on this unique occasion we don’t think Greens should run a full campaign against him,” the letter says Full read in @thetimes 👇 thetimes.com/article/16d6ba…

Most any leader of @UKLabour (not interested in factionalism) would want to keep @RachelReevesMP on the field of play. Rachel has a brain the size of several planets and she is human as well. Rachel actually cares. It’s not all about her. It’s about what difference she can make.

One Labour MP close to Reeves said: “I am concerned that we may lose everything if a new leader sacrifices the chancellor for promises and new alliances they are currently forging with MPs who fancy the job for themselves. The biggest fear for the bond markets and the unions is Ed Miliband” Story: theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

@carla_denyer @KarlTurnerMP Carla, you know the claim that this manchild regularly makes are unsubstantiated, right? Why is the leader of your party, as a Jewish man who supposedly understands the insidious and escalatory nature of antisemitism, failing to challenge antisemitism within said party?
