The far right rally in London has attracted large numbers of football types, many already on their 3rd can of lager. There is a heavy police presence but with my long experience of fascist pubic order situations I am 💯 certain this will kick off

We paid for Angela Rayner’s education. We paid her wages when she worked for the local council. We paid her wages when she became an MP. We even paid the settlement that enabled her to buy a house. Tax payers have funded every aspect of her entire life.

I repeat. These men are NOT 'asylum seekers' or 'refugees'. They are NOT fleeing war. They are unvetted, illegal economic migrants who are invading our country because they know we're a soft touch. They are ALL criminals and they should ALL be deported.

Newcastle will not sign players they don’t really want to replace Isak. Been the same all summer. Had they got Ekitike or Sesko and Liverpool bid £150m, maybe he could have gone. Maybe being the key word here given stance has always been not for sale. But signing a striker for the sake of it now will do far more damage than good long term. Far better to keep Isak and reintegrate. As hard as that has become. Again, the plan all summer. They are actively looking for a replacement for Wilson and will continue to do so until the end of the window #nufc

I do not know what the f#ck happened here, apart from my GPS was intermittent, and at one point I was cycling apparently at 110mph. Absolutely weird. Still great fun with Barry Roberts , Kevin Harvey Maria Reardon Carol Ford and a late appearance by Grahame Woodhams

@pjbryant @wisbechstandard The memorial wasn't on the cycling itinerary, but I badgered the hell out of them until they agreed.

@wisbechstandard Rangoon memorial. His widow was offered a trip there, but never went. Some chums (inc. @StCrad) cycled there in 2016 & remembered him there, possibly the first people to do that. I'm very grateful for that. His wife was lovely & spent decades in their cottage after the war.

As we approach VJ day, it brings back memories of cycling through Thailand and Burma and laying a wreath at Sittang Bridge in memory of those who fell in the forgotten war.

RIP Wynn the leap. A magnificent centre forward, and an unbelievable header of the ball.

49 years ago, my very good mate Billy Snowdon, aged just 18 was murdered by the IRA in Crossmaglen. Rest easy Billy, there's not a day goes by without thinking of you.
