I know much of the domestic population opposed much of the tactics and strategies: they have protests constantly. I believe Hamas sought the strongest reaction possible. FAFO

The aid to Israel will probably stop in 2 years or so even Netanyahu said so. but in the end the US will lose from it. Since for one thing Israel will invest more in its local defense industries than buy from the US since it will be cheaper and more reliable to withstand outside pressures.
