Day 2 of Vibe Coding in Unreal Engine 5! 🎣🏊⛰️ Still learning as I go, but yesterday’s progress was another big step toward bringing my Otherdeed-inspired fishing game to life. ✅ Added swimming mechanics and underwater transitions ✅ Built a complete fishing animation sequence with a looping idle state ✅ Set up animation transitions between fishing states ✅ Started terraforming the world, shaping mountains, cliffs, and a massive crater lake ✅ Added cliff-jumping into the lake to begin making the world feel alive Building gameplay systems one blueprint at a time with help from cheatGpT. cooking. 🎣

After doing the @ApeChainHUB vibecode sessions a couple months back, learning about LLMs & MML for @OthersideMeta, and now working through the mini courses on Unreal Engine with @tropicalvirtual and @Itsangie in the RenderPool, I've decided to start cooking up my own fishing game from an idea using my otherdeeds, spawned years ago! No real coding skills, yet but this is what was accomplished in one long day, yesterday, with help of cheatGpt. ✅Imported MAYC into UE. ✅ Created an IK Rig for the mutant. ✅ Retargeted the fishing animation pack to the MAYC skeleton so all animations work correctly with the character. ✅ Imported 3D fishing rod. ✅ Created and aligned FishingRodSocket on the right hand. ✅ Created a socket on the spine/back so the rod can be carried when not fishing. ✅ Fixed the attachment issues where the rod was staying on the character's back after equipping. ✅ Set up the animation montage for equipping/casting. ✅ Created the swamp fishing area using a Box Collision trigger. ✅ Added context-sensitive interaction, so the E key only works while standing inside the fishing area. ✅ Made the character draw the rod from the back and attach it to the hand. ✅ Displayed the interaction prompt/text when entering the fishing area. Next to achieve is: Actually catching fish. Water splashes, bobber, line physics. Casting distance. Fish AI and bite detection. Reeling fish in. Inventory and caught fish system.

Funny, as I've had UE downloaded for a couple years now since Otherdeeds minted, opened it up then and was like Holy Shit, information overload and set it aside! lol

Gm from the ODK⛏️ What I love about the worlds I've built is that nothing is complete🤣. Things are scattered, broken, environment is bare, it lags, etc...but thats the beauty of it. Nothing has to be perfect. We're all still learning from each other. Just build and have fun!
