@JackEllis I love these articles, haven’t read them all yet but they are a part of why I even tried Fathom and now got multiple companies running Fathom. It’s a transition to get people to understand to pay for something that they are used to is “free”. Please keep writeing. ☺️

I’ve spent nearly seven years documenting how we built Fathom: outages, DDoS attacks, migrations, $100k AWS savings, my cofounder’s retirement, and a divorce. I write transparently because I want other people to learn from my mistakes. These 18 posts tell the story:

I noticed something interesting: Claude Code auto-adds itself as a co-author on every git commit. Codex doesn’t. That’s why you see Claude everywhere on GitHub, but not Codex. I wonder why OpenAI is not doing that. Feels like an obvious branding strategy OpenAI is skipping.

@_joshhanley @adamwathan @m1guelpf Not gonna lie, spent more time than I want to admit to force light mode in a application with flux 😅 But this is correct, building a page without dark mode but using a library like flux, requires us to be able to force light mode.

@adamwathan @m1guelpf If using a UI library like Flux, that has light and dark mode built into it, we'd still need a way to allow users to select light only mode for scenarios where users haven't built a dark mode for their site 🤔

Dark mode variant that respects the `dark` class if present, but just relies on the media query if not 🤔 Kinda wish this was the default in Tailwind, maybe I'll tag v5 today.

@MrPunyapal Think it's a good idea. Done WSL, Wsl & Docker (Sail). and now most project Herd + WSL in combination (To handle laravel horizon on "windows"). Getting more solutions/setup and how people use it on windows is a good idea for all windows developers out there :)

@gauravmakhecha @laravelphp yes ... but this one it's not so easy with media (spatie media, right?). There isn't a model relation. If you find the fix, can you share it ?

@jeffrey_way Using Monday.com which I prefer generally over Trello. Probably use 5% of features, but you can pretty much solve a lot and it had bunch of integrations/automations aswell. Unsure on how to handle the weekly check in’s but surely is a way.

What are you using for team project management these days? I need things like team weekly check-ins, project tracking (Pending, In Progress, Ready for Review), due dates, assignments, etc. We're using Trello at the moment, which works reasonably well.

@AshAllenDesign Windows user. I've used Docker(Sail) before in general. Now I'm using Herd unless I'm using Horizon, then I'm running sail (inside wsl) still, due to Horizon not working on windows. If it would, I would for the current needs use Herd ~90-95% of the cases.

This changes EVERYTHING I just announced on stage at @LaraconEU that the FIRST EVER iPhone app to built on @LaravelPHP and @LaravelLivewire has been released on the iOS App Store Yes, you read that right! PHP now has Apple's approval as a legitimate way to build iOS apps 🔥

@calebporzio Since we are at the subject weeks. Will there be support to show weeks in the calendar? I've not seen it in any screenshots and can understand if there wouldn't be. But it would be an insane feature. It's still pretty common regarding vacations, etc with weeks.

Stupid thing: I randomly set a calendar to feb 2026 Realized it's a perfect month: - exactly 4 weeks - first day starts on a Sunday How satisfying... When's the next one? 2037 You're welcome

@calebporzio Would be nice to have it as an option. But if one of them, let it be possible to select year/month. Been pressing the arrow for way to many years in some apps 😂

I'm tempted to just always render the month/yr as select pickers in the dropdown... right? like just gives users more power and prevents catastrophic situations like a dev using this for a birthday and a user having to click 10k times?

@seb_sebsn Got pro license, windows, however I use Laravel Horizon more or less for all projects and as I understood it was some extension that was not possible in windows so defaulted back to sail. I loved the ui and everything was working nice unfortunately a horizon setup is required.

If you tried Herd but ended up using your previous setup, why is that? We want to provide the best development environment for PHP and it buggs me that people try Herd but don't use it as their daily driver. What's holding you back?
