@alexutopia Many of those studios were just summer camps for adults. They only hired their friends and expected people to kiss their ass for a seat at the table. It wasn't about the art, it was about who got VIP at conventions, or who got to attend seminars overseas all expenses paid.

The way I see this luddite way of thinking is that, like in the show "Your Forma" they are going to make enclaves for themselve, similar to Native Americans or Quakers today, where AI tech is not allowed. In other words they are going to go full isloationist once they realize that AI is here to stay. If I had to guess in the next 5 years or so this will start to happen.

He was very vocal against AI.
Then one day Amazon made him an offer, to participate in the company's Gen AI fund for Punky Duck series.
Gutierrez said yes.
That's when the Anti-AI mob came for him. They were angry. So angry that they sent death threats, threatening both him and his family.
So he flipped again, dropping out of the AI program.
On one hand, this is a story of how many anti-AI will change their tune once there is money involved.
On the other hand, this is a story of how absolutely unhinged and evil some of the anti-AI crowd can be.
There is never an excuse for making death threats against him or his family.

@DougTenNapel The real problem with AI is the data centers they are try to build everywhere and the sheer amount of water they use. They are trying to build them here in Arizona which is obviously going to cause major problems.
