I was once with Nate on Oceans Beach in SF on the 4th of July. We watched someone being harassed by police about drinking on federal property. Nate spent the whole time explaining how if the police came over and asked to look in our cooler we should refuse to comply on principle

Two thoughts on the guy killed in Minneapolis: 1) I don’t care whether he “deserved” to be shot based on his specific actions in the moment—debating this is a distraction. He intentionally inserted himself into a law enforcement conflict, and his allies intentionally created noise and chaos designed to disorient and distract. Accidents happen in such environments; law enforcement agents deserve extra margin. The mission is important, and what matters is that it proceed. 2) Leftists aren’t upset by his death. They see it as a political tool. If most were given the option to have him survive, they wouldn’t take it. They want a martyr.
