We are deeply appreciative of @fordnationdougford’s direction to the Attorney General to pursue an injunction ahead of tomorrow’s Al-Quds rally in Toronto. The Al-Quds rally is a notoriously antisemitic annual event where antisemitism, antizionism, and outright hatred are spewed in the streets under the guise of solidarity with Palestinians. The global Al-Quds Day was established in 1979 by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini following the Iranian Revolution, underscoring the event’s extremist origins. This rally has no place in a democratic society and comes at a time when Jewish communities are already facing heightened fear following more than a week of attacks on synagogues in Toronto and around the world. We hope the rally will be shut down once and for all, bringing an end to a hateful event that is an affront not only to Jews but to all Canadians who reject bigotry and violence.

🚨BREAKING VIDEO: Unidentified perpetrators started a fire at the synagogue in Rotterdam during the early hours of Friday morning, Dutch police reported. The arson attack occurred at around 3:40 a.m., with records showing a call to the fire brigade minutes later reporting a smell of smoke. No injuries reported. Police are investigating the antisemitic attack, which comes amid a wave of violence targeting Jewish communities this week, including incidents in Michigan, Norway, and other locations.

🚨BREAKING: Police responding to active shooter situation at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan, the largest Reform synagogue in the United States. West Bloomfield police, Oakland County Sheriff's Office, and Michigan State Police are on scene. No injuries reported at this time. The public is asked to avoid the area. This is a developing story.

🚨 BREAKING: Following the recent non-stop red alert sirens in northern Israel, over 100 rockets were fired by Hezbollah terrorists from Lebanon toward civilian population. Israel is under attack.

At Toronto Metropolitan University, student group Students for Justice in Palestine was selling stickers with imagery glorifying terrorism, including rifles, “Long Live the Intifada,” and Leila Khaled, a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist organization and notorious airplane hijacker. It is worth noting that this is the same university where milk was recently thrown at a table we were hosting with Israeli visitors in an effort to hold civil conversation with students. The fact that this group was allowed to sell merchandise featuring terrorism-related imagery underscores what we already know: that there is a serious problem with antisemitism and antizionism on campus, and it raises real questions about what the university is willing to allow. Every student – Jewish or otherwise – should feel disturbed that this is permitted on campus.

In the wake of last week’s shootings at three GTA synagogues and an Iranian-owned business, the U.S. Consulate in Toronto was targeted this morning. No injuries were reported and police are on scene. Predictably, the war in Iran is fueling violence far beyond the Middle East, spreading fear while perpetrators face no accountability. It is far past the time for authorities to take meaningful action and make clear this is unacceptable. Lives are at stake.

Ambassador @MoedIddo discussed the recent incident at TMU with Ethan Elharrar, who while tabling on campus about Israeli identity was assulted by a carton of expired milk. When hatred turns into violence, no one is safe. Universities MUST take action. And it's not just campuses - Antisemitism has become part of Jewish Canadian daily life. Jews are being intimidated on the street and at school, their places of worship are getting shot and vandalized. Jews are feeling unwelcome in their own home.

🚨 Operation ‘Roaring Lion’ | March 9, 2026 Since the joint U.S.-Israel operation against the tyrannical Iranian regime began, close to 400 missiles and rockets have been fired at Israeli civilian populations, both by the Iranian regime and by Hezbollah in Lebanon. Fifteen people have been murdered and over 2,000 others injured. Damage and destruction across several sites. The Iranian regime and its proxies are a threat not just to Israel or the Middle East, but to the entire world.
