🚨 SHARE WIDELY 🚨 Esther (Esti), a 14-year-old from Toronto, is still missing. She was last seen the night of Friday, May 15 near Earl Bales Park. Police and community volunteers are actively searching for her. There is a public appeal to residents in the area to check security cameras, backyards, and sheds. Anyone who sees Esti or has information is urged to call 911 or the Shomrim Hotline at 647-577-6735. We are praying for Esti’s safe return.

Another "humanitarian flotilla" is heading to Gaza - organized by two violent Turkish groups with documented terror ties. But Gaza doesn't need this flotilla. Since October 2025 alone, 1.58 million tons of humanitarian aid has entered Gaza through legitimate channels. The Board of Peace, which oversees Gaza aid under UN Resolution 2803, said it plainly: "This flotilla is only about publicity." Israel offered a legal alternative: deliver aid through Ashdod port where it will be screened and transferred. They refused. We repeat: This isn't humanitarian work. It's a PR stunt with terror ties.

Sir Nicholas Winton, a British stockbroker whose family was originally Jewish but later converted to Christianity, was a beacon of light in the darkest of times. In an incredible act of bravery and heroism, Sir Nicholas saved 669 Czechoslovakian children, most of whom were Jewish, just before the outbreak of World War II, allowing them to grow up and live full lives. May 8 marks the surrender of Nazi Germany, as well as the liberation of some of the final concentration camps. We remember and honour the six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust, along with the courageous acts undertaken to save lives in the face of unimaginable evil.

On the night of May 7, three people were shot at from a passing vehicle with a pellet gun outside the Chasidei Bobov synagogue in North York. One person was struck and suffered minor injuries. Police are investigating the incident as a suspected hate-motivated offence and are examining whether it could be connected to a similar incident targeting Jewish residents in North York last week. This is the new normal in Canada. We need our government and local leaders, as well as our neighbours and allies, to speak out loudly and unequivocally, condemn these acts, and actively push back against the mainstreaming of this kind of violence in our society. Otherwise, perpetrators will continue to feel emboldened to terrorize the Canadian Jewish community and spread fear without consequence. Silence is complicity - a statement that was true in history and remains true today.

Researchers from Israel’s Weizmann Institute of Science and Sheba Medical Center, in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, have created the first accessible, detailed digital map of a healthy human liver, with individual cells mapped across the organ. Published in Nature, this groundbreaking research found that the human liver is organized into eight functional zones, challenging the belief that there were only three. This digital map paves the way for a major shift in research, enabling scientists to transition from mouse models to studying the human liver directly, opening new possibilities for advanced treatments for liver disease. 🇮🇱🔬

On Thursday night in North York, a suspect fired a replica firearm, described as an Orbeez-type gun, at three visibly Jewish individuals in a despicable antisemitic attack. The victims sustained minor injuries. Toronto Police are investigating this as a suspected hate-motivated offence. The situation facing the Jewish community in Canada is escalating rapidly. It is critical that our lawmakers and law enforcement draw a hard line in the sand, now, before things deteriorate further. Words are not enough. The psychological warfare of vandalism and property damage has now escalated to physical attacks on Jewish-Canadians in the streets. It’s time for the pendulum to swing aggressively in the other direction, and for radical actors to be pushed back to the fringes of Canadian society. Today, police released a video of the suspect’s blue SUV as it fled the scene, and are asking for the public’s help in identifying it. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Bnai Brith Canada’s annual audit of antisemitic incidents in Canada presents troubling figures, putting into concrete terms what the Jewish community has been experiencing: 6,800 incidents documented in 2025, a 145% increase since 2022. No facet of life has been left untouched, from institutions to places of worship to businesses. This trajectory is unsustainable. Government and community leaders must take meaningful action to stop further escalation and prevent continued attacks. Safety is not optional, but a basic expectation for every Canadian, including every Jewish Canadian.
