Why do so many elected officials betray their campaign convictions? It’s more than just “follow the money.” Clarence Thomas says it best. “People come to Washington and you learn who they really are. To paraphrase something I recently read, combat strips us down to our essentials. But once in the spotlight, in that combat, many people fall prey to the lures that are set up to turn them away from their previously untested principles. They become controlled by criticism, so fearful of negative attention that they find ways to avoid doing the right thing. Or, they fall prey to the enchanting siren songs of flattery, and become so bewitched by praise that they will desperately seek to conform accordingly. They are enticed by access to things that were previously unavailable to them. They get so swept up in the euphoria of acclamation and acceptance that they put aside their convictions. They water down their message, negotiate against themselves, vote against their principles, and hide in the tall grass. They recast themselves as institutionalists, pragmatists, or thoughtful moderates, all as a way of justifying their failures to themselves, their consciences and their country.”

Great news that Joe diGenova will be sworn in on Monday as Counsel to the AG to lead the Russia collusion hoax invesitgation. Joe will work out of the Fort Pierce FL courthouse, where a grand jury has been empaneled since January. Finally, a real fighter to lead the charge!

Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway filed a federal lawsuit challenging including illegal immigrants and temporary visa holders into census totals used for congressional apportionments “Hanaway argues this practice is unconstitutional, claiming it dilutes the voting power of U.S citizens by allowing non-citizens to influence the number of house seats, electoral votes, and ultimately the path to the White House. According to the complaint, Missouri lost a congressional seat after the 2020 census because non-citizens were counted effectively shifting political power to states with larger non-citizen populations. The lawsuit seeks aggressive remedies. It asked the court to redo the 2020 census, recalculate, congressional and electoral votes, and issue an injunction blocking the counting of illegal immigrants in the 2030 census.”
